My 2DOF simulator project

    Hello,

    I have been on this forum for a while. Just a month ago, I decided to start thinking about building the 2DoF simulator. The idea is to minimize the cost.

    There are a few examples I tried to follow for the motor system.

    Forget to mention that I am currently based in the UK.

    What I currently have are the following:
    Two motors from Amazon UK. The same model 24V 250W 75rpm.
    Meanwell LRS-350-24
    Motor controller BTS7960B DC 43A
    Electronics box with 3D printed front panel.
    U joint from Bearmach (BR1741 and BR0664).
    A lot of different Arduino and RaspberryPi.
    very basic 10k potentiometers

    For the design, I tried to combine @Caveman 's Prototype Racing Sim v4 and @noorbeast DX design. Currently will be 2DOF, but for the future, I want to add traction loss as well. The design is based on the aluminum profiles. It is not finished but will be like this.

    I have not tested it yet. In the current stage, I am still designing the rig. I plan to build it using an aluminium profile or strut because I don't have a welder. I need to get the key component like this U-joint, rose rod and motor arm, then I can fix my design and order the strut.
    I have some basic measurements for you, hope it helps.
    I think the angle will go +- 15 degrees.

    Cheers mate, I got one delivered yesterday and had my mechanic put it all together for me cause I didn’t have a clamp . Cheers for the info.
    I’ll get my rig posted with where I’m at on it at some point this week.

    Get the frame ordered from https://www.aluminium-profile.co.uk/. Two types of holes are needed. One is the M12 to connect the M12 end rod for the motor arm. One is the M8 hole to connect the U joint.
