He there sim community folks, I am a ne member and just setting out on my 3DOF build. Fabrication and design are my stronger attributes, electrical... not so much.

I am hoping to make contact with fellow Aussies for purchasing advice on some of the components. If anyone can help advise what electric motors I should purchase would be greatly appreciated. I am not sure what I need and want to avoid spending $$$ on the wrong item.

Hoping to be racing you all really soon

What motor specs you need depends on your rig design and desired performance, the likes of SimCalc can help you work out the tradeoffs between design Vs physics: https://www.xsimulator.net/communit...e-linear-speed-and-forces-of-your-design.270/

We are lucky in Australia as we have Motion Dynamics. Depending on design needs they can supply 200w commercial motors: https://www.motiondynamics.com.au/worm-drive-motor-12v-24v-200w-180-rpm-20nm-torque.html

Or a range of beefier industrial motors, in left or right orientations, coupled with your choice of wormdrive ratio: https://www.motiondynamics.com.au/320w-12v-24v-worm-drive-from-21-to-256-rpm-and-25-to-75nm.html
