While it's a great entry level SteamVR headset, just keep in mind that it does have a few shortcomings worth noting.
I had one of these, but ended up exchanging it for the Samsung Odyssey.

The LCD screens on this are very dull and washed-out vs the OLED screens of the Rift/Vive/Odyssey.
The sweet spot in the center is almost pinpoint small, and progressively blurs out towards the edges. (not good for sim racing)
You'll need to supply your own headphones, not a big deal if you plan on using your own hp's or a speaker setup, but it's not an all-in-one solution.

As a stepping stone into VR, especially if your only interest is cockpit style games or gamepad ones, then for $99 this really is a stellar deal.
If on the other hand you wish to also use motion controllers or do full room-scale, then it's probably best to pick up one of the bundles (HMD + Motion Controllers) when they're on sale, or grab a used Rift for roughly the same price.

Okay, anyway I think it's a good choice as the first HMD for low budgets
