hello all. I'm New tothe sim world. My name is Mike a.k.a Hollywood and I've been into racing forever but it's way to expensive. My son showed me iracing and I was bit with the sim bug big time! I'm just sick with this stuff now. Seeing how far this has come is just incredible and now motion sims in your own home, way to cool in my book. The cost is high but not as high as real racing, and now I find this site and there are others out there like me that think this can be done just as well but for a lot less money. I'm planning a motion sim build 4 DOF with traction loss out of 80/20. I'll be sure to post updates and get all the advice I can on it. Thanks for a great place to learn.

    Welcome @Hollywood.

You have come to the right place for motion simulation software, information and support from a very active community.

Have a look at existing member builds for ideas and inspiration, it could well help you refine what you may like to do for your own project: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

You will find the FAQ section covers some more specific topic areas, like types of simulators, designs and motors: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/

If you are having a hard time understanding terms or acronyms the have a look at the Glossary of Acronyms and Names: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/glossary-of-acronyms-and-names.66/

Do ask questions, there is a lot to take in but the community is good at giving tips during planning, reviewing purchase lists, giving feedback and encouragement during the build and providing advice on actually sorting out motion profiles.

And don't forget to take a moment and add yourself to the Member Map: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/memberMap/

    Good luck with your project.
