    @yobuddy,
I would like to ask for an increased range from +-50 to +-90.
In x-plane for example, the difference between slow (cessna 172) and fast (extra 300) plane is to big to tune properly the profile with those sliders.
While switching from one to another, being forced each time to change all Tunning Center values is really a pain in the neck.

    Thanks a lot.

Since the difference is to large between the two have you tried tuning somewhere in the middle then making a separate profile for each?

Sure, doing so my Cessna 172 is too muddy with +50 and the extra300 still to violent with -50.
100 percent difference is not enough.

@yobuddy, could you please compile one with +-90 for testing purposes. If it do the job we could think to adapt it in the further release.

My worries with +-90% is that one could accidentally make their sim 90% more sensitive.
This could cause quite a ride lol.
I do at times thou feel like i could use more range.

Maybe some of the long time users can jump in here about the current range available in profiling.
Has the profiling range proven to be enough, or would more be warranted?:sos

Maybe +-75 would be more reasonable, thou I don't know if that would cover the range your needing.

The effectiveness of the existing range is dependent on how well the base profile is set up in the first place, so likely there could be a huge range of variability between individuals.

Flight also benefits more from an increased range, rather than driving sims.

Maybe a small warning pop-up or something like red label could do the job.

Anyway everybody welcome in the discussion!

I agree. Shall we understand, you support my request?

I can imagine, there is more users over here interested in cars than planes but restraining the flight simmers with this argument is not quiet fair.

In my opinion, what can do more can also do less and not the opposite!

    Yes and no.

The existing range is pretty good with a decent base profile, but I know many here don't necessaily have a good base profile and that is especially true of some commercial sims, where the buyers really have little idea about or interest in learning how to properly configure SimTools.

It is a handy Pro option, but I share @yobuddy's concern that it may not be a safe option for all people. Hence perhaps there could be a modest increase in range and see what happens.

I leave the disscussion open. What do you think about this:

Another way (even more flexible) to overcome this issue could be the possibility of saving the Tunning Center status at the same time as the Game Engine presets.

Doing so, it would not change anything to people who are happy with the standard Tuning Center values or editor/more slider range, (it would simply overwrite them). No safety issue in this case.

On the other hand for those who want to tweak more in detail each vehicle it would bring a wonderful one click solution.

    Another thought,
    @yobuddy,
Maybe the more logical solution would be to save the "Tuning Center" values to the "Profile Editor" profile and make them independent from "editor/more" sliders.

Ex. I tune the vehicle response with "Tunung Center", than I create the profile in "Profile Editor" which saves the "Tunning Center" values, than I can fine tweak them with +-50 sliders.

Each time I load a profile, I can call the"TC" saved values and the corresponding slider position.

Simple. I think such a solution could satisfy everybody.

    Are you agree?

If this were done you would want to be able to name the different tuning center settings that are for the same game in order to recall them in the tuning center and to help keep track of what is what.

    Yes.
I think the people are not idiots and who is able to build a motion platform can deal with a "Profile Editor" profile names as well.
You could name your profile like:
    -X-plane Cessna
    -X-plane Extra 300
    -r-factor F1
    -r-factor Trabant
    Etc...

And than again, those who don't want to do custom "Tunning Center" could have a message:
"Do you want to save the current Tunning Center values" yes/no or a checkbox for that purpose.

In the left corner you can see so called "motion platform stats".
Please pay attention to the P parameter (angular roll velocieties).
In this test, I am doing a roll (yoke full left) with cessna 172 and extra 300. As you can notice, the difference between two aircrafts is a factor 9.

Also be aware please, that the extra 300 is not the fastest aircraft in x-plane. we can find some fighter jets there with even quicker response.

@yobuddy, I hope it can convice you that my request to have an extended slider range or a save/read preset for "Profile Editor" with different Tunning Center values is more than resonable.

    Thanks a lot.

As someone who does not use the profile sliders (leave at middle/max), but rather update the tuning centre with known/tested numbers, I could use this functionality.

    @SeatTime,
How are you dealing with this?
You update the Tuning Centre values manually or you use the plugin updater to load the min/max values from a file?
Anyway, It would be so much better to have a preset for this.

Game manager profiles will give you + and - 50 on tubing centre values.

Some Cessna acrobatics with a new profile, adapted for roll-over feature - (Thanks @yobuddy) and the latest x-plane plugin with lowered gravity value - (Thanks @value1)

Unfortunately pushing the sliders to -50 does not compensate the difference of the various aircrafts telemetry enough to be able to use the current Tunning Center values with faster aircrafts.

I hope we could find a solution to overcome this issue without making a compromise degrading this excellent result.

I don’t think its necessary to debate the need to increase profile slider possibilities anymore and that method should be an easy fix for @yobuddy. During Simtools 2 beta testing I advocated for sliders to have a much larger range. The reply was couldn't anticipate a need for this for. My reply was, “I sure can” so needless to say I’m not surprised now that that time has come. The response was something like we can cross that bridge later if needed.

Btw, in addition it would be most excellent if axis "b" axis had their own tuning center. With that you could put two systems together seamlessly without jumping thru hoops.

Upon further recollection our discussion in the beta thread was about allowing larger than 150% in axis assignments not sliders. In any event is all about more range to fit more situations.

But I was thinking today that if we had separate “a” and “b" axis tuning (the ideal for putting systems together), with the addition of a checkbox option, “a” and “b” could be swapped back and forth. This could allow users that don’t use “b” axis for additional systems to instead use the extra set of numbers for situations like hexpod and sliders can stay at 50%.
