Ive just been investigating the Jrk 12v12, It doesnt quiet have the satisfaction of programming one from scratch but it could be a more achievable goal.

for a 3DOF I would need 3 JRK12V12 woudlnt i? All pluged into different USB ports of the computer?

just checking coz if they are $99 each so this may be a reason fro me to stick with my original plan of the arduino.

Yes, thats right, one per motor and one usb port per board.
They may not give you the nerdon of building a control board set up, but are simple to use and set up.

    My Motion Simulator:
2DOF, DC motor, JRK, SimforceGT, 6DOF
ya still need 2 hbridges to get 3dof out of the arduino, headache of programming, i recently help a local guy here in perth to have his 2dof unit which was failed attempt of a k8055 sim, we had the two jrks wired in and calibrated in an hour. He was makiing profiles and racing quite quickly, then i had to let myself out because he wouldnt get off or stop. Another happy Jrk Camper.
Stowaway i do advise ya build a model first get use to using xsim then build ya full size unit.
Ya can even use the jrk with model dc motor and gearboxs if ya dont want to servos.
