    and how can I invert the axis for surge? If test in kife for speed, when I accelarating the Rig fell down

    The DIR box in Axis Assignments for surge being checked orange or not determines which way the axis moves, so set yours the opposite of whatever it is now.

    In SMC3 if you zero everything thing in SMC3, then:
    1. Set Clip to 255 (you need to do this first) and Limit to 255 (This will give you plenty of margin if something goes wrong while setting up)
    2. Set Kp to about 400
    3. Now slowly, increase PWMmax
    What then happens?

    OK guys -i have motion:



    The soloution was, that one of the controll cable was not connected. So the Motor for traction los only one way. and the poti goes over 5V to 0 :)
    Here are my settings, it is courios tha I can not set fPWM to 25 Hz only 4 and 3 for the third (traction loss) Motor.

    Unfortunately the base of the motor is broken after I try to sit down on the seat. To ride the first time...

    To fix the motors.

    I decided to go for try and error as I am not able to calculate... And yes, the first try was a big error...

    Is it possible when the power supply is off that the balance is so well that the simrig is horizontal..? When I shut down the voltage.. the the rig fell down.. and the Poti overflow... Is this normal?

    Motor mounts and levers need to be really strong, depending on the design and hardware over 1000N may be involved and there are safety considerations.

    I would suggest at a minimum 3-4mm angle steel for mounts/levers, I actually use 6mm for my levers, though that is likely a bit of overkill.

    The lever is 10mm! I have drilled a thread for M8 screw wich ts the same like the motor shaft and screw together but somehow the screw detached from the shaft, so that the motor is rotating without the lver.

    When you setup, and you forget something and go bac to sm3utils what happend with your motors? My lever fell down like the have no voltage.. So I have to to rotate the poti so that the motor rotate until it reach the middle posiiton? Is this happen to you as well?

    Sounds like SMC3 settings and/or design need to be revisited.

    Smc3 will cut power for safety reasons if limits are exceeded. Limits may be exceeded through inadequate settings and/or inadequate hardware for the required mass of the rig+user+peripherals.

    The PID settings in smc3utils will be used for simtools or not?

    I have to find a better way to fix the motor.

    SMC3utils is a handy app to configure the Android code to control the hardware, once that is properly done SimTools is configured to 'talk' to the Arduino in the Interface Settings.

    Hi,
    Wood construction is ok for prototype, now when You have working model move to aluminium profiles.
    Even from supermarket, You dont have to use sestem one - thy are expensive.
    If You want wood anyway - construction need to be stronger.use bracket like You have now -drill holes - to fix motor. Take them on both side of motor/gearbox (use 2 holes - 4 brackets), even that is not a longlife idea.
    About use M8 as a force to not turn the arm - its imposible. You have to instal arm on schaft (You have nice place - some 3-4cm) and press that surface. Like on fot , no need milling - can be drilled and cut a half.[​IMG]

    Ok guys. I was in the hardware store and bought better wood it call here in Germany Multiplex. And 70mm M6 screws.

    So all 4 screws fit in from the motors. I try to fix with the white band (don't know how it's called in English).

    And I was calibrating in smc3utils again and again. Unfortunately the the rig fall down and the poti are overflowed and when simtools starting the lever is down.. but the program try to go down because of the false position of the poti, it gives feedback that the lever is up so this happens: 16448769224671775142194711738822.jpg

    And to complete the list of the issues, the ujoint have a nose (for greasing) so the pitch to upwards is limiting. But the real problem ist, that the ujoint looses a bit and can rotate like yaw.
    I don’t know how to fix it.

    But all this things, don't hold me to try the first ride. It was surprisingly good. And the motors were really quite! I get a bit of motion sicknesses, because I have to look at right down to my laptop so I think it is better ok VR.but I don't trust the whole system, cause is very fragile and I have to fix a lot. And do fine tuning...

    What really impress me was the gear shift and curbs. Surge for acceleration was not so impressive . Abit better the breaking. But the sway effect I like a lot. Unfortunately the lever of the traction loss systems don't hold so I try only the 2 motors.

    I still waiting for the CTC lever from sck gaming DWG file. My friend is working in a company with water cutting. And he will do this for small money. 10mm with perfect fit for the shaft and impossible to loose or move.

    For the whole construction Arielnac which is the first member here which using this kind of motors have the whole rig in wood. Except the rod, lever and ujoint. So I hope that I can do it too.

    Use connection seat and motor as short as posible. I have some 100mm and bent litle bit too.
    Or use a pipe (inside threaded both side) for prevent deformation.

    first of all I would like to thank noorbeast and seuszok for the support. And the xsimulator team, cause I receive the DIY license!

    Maybe the 250W motors are powerful enough to be full 3dof with heave function?
    I run it yesterday with lower then 20V and they have really power!

    maybe I have to change the geometry?
    The base for the joint is 25cm, inclusive the joint about 32cm

    The Inputs - Current Angle is not likely 90 degrees, it would be closer to zero (horizontal to the floor) or slightly off that, depending on design.

    May you can share your setup, that I understand better? I think your rods are aswell more than 30cm length.
    I play with the settings, and if the rods are longer so the Z Axis is higher the force will be more:

    The rest position of the lever is measured from horizontal.

    On my compact rig the rest position of the levers is parallel to the floor, as that has the rods at 90 degrees from them, so the rest position is 0 degrees in SimCalc.

    On a shoulder mount design, like pictured in SimCalc, the rest position of the levers is about around 45 degrees, because when the seat is level, the rods will be at 90 degrees to the levers, like they are in the SimCalc pictures.

    @norrbest, can you tell me what your max +- DEG are? And have you a Hard limit stopper that the lever don't go below that degree and over/underflow the potentiometer?
