Hello all. I'm sorry if this has been posted many times before. I'm getting myself confused looking through all the post. I want to n make a 3dof rig for use with oculus rift. I'm going to weld my frame using some of the great guides on here. I'm lost at what motor to buy or should I get actuator . I'm in uk and not sure where to start getting a bit disheartening. Sorry again if I'm repeating questions would be ideal if someone had done a shopping list of requirements. Kind regards
    Dale

It depends a bit on your design and use priorities. For example if you don't plan on using helicopters then yaw is not a big priority as an axis, but if you do then it is.

There are also different options other than a 3DOF, such a a G-Seat, and you could also use a G-Seat in conjunction with a 3DOF design.

A bit of planning is time well spent, and the community here can help you out as you formulate your ideas about what you want to build, rather than get hung up on what actuator to use.

Have a look at existing member builds, that may help you refine your own project ideas: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

You can also use the Google Custom Search box near the top right to quickly find examples.
