Anyone ever use the Gimx adapter on OSW direct drive wheels ? The person that sent me the link to purchase it is using it with a Accuforce wheel and playing Forza 7 . His wheel is getting FFB and working with no issues.

i have a gimx and run it with a logitech wheel and a ps4

basically you use a pc/laptop to convert the signal from one format to ps4 format

it works pretty good but is a pita to get going

i am building my own version of osw and will use the gimx if needed

I use gimx with an Accuforce V2. It works fine with games like forza or wrc7 which my wheel didn't previously work with. All in all it took me a few days to figure out. I was lead to believe that you needed 2 pc's or raspberry pi to run it, but you don't.

I'm using it solely on PC. Some trial and error involved to begin with, but it works flawlessly now.

All I did was make the adapter (followed the wiki), enclose it in a case, and plugged both the usb's straight into my main PC.

I think I was mainly confused because I never knew it could be set up in such a way.

Hi Sarge, i keen to understand what you mean by plugging both USB's in? I have just ordered their adapter (GIMX) but just wanted to get a heads up on how to connect this up, im using an Accuforce wheel, and have my shifter and pedals plugged in using a USB hub. Any suggestions or advice would be most welcome

Hi, The adapter has 2 usb connectors. I just plugged them both into my pc then created a custom config once the firmware was loaded onto the board. I needed to install old logitech drivers for mine to work though. It took me a couple of days to get my head around it but once you've played with it for a while, it starts to make some sense.

with mine you need to plug the gmx, the steering wheel and the ps4 handcontroller into a usb hub

If you are just using gimx on a pc, you don't need a ps3/ps4 controller.

Well i made 2 changes at once so not sure which,
1/ My Mmos degrees of rotation was higher than the ingame so i think if i rotated past the ingame setting the ffb would drop (ie big steering to get back on track) so i increased in game to match Mmos
2/I decreased all ffb settings in game because it was to strong anyway OSW wanted to hurt me lol
seems fine now run loads of stages without a problem.
    regards
