The Flyinside dev has announced and demoed his own Flyinside VR optimised flight sim at FSCon, see here starting at 9min: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/150872497?sr=a&t=0s

While the Flyinside flight simulator is brand new it is designed from the ground up for very high frame rates and rather than reinventing the wheel it is also designed to load up existing FSX planes.

Buildings are generated via OpenStreetMaps data and the plan is to concentrate on US scenery first, followed by elsewhere in the world. Personally I would really like to see Ortho4xp support for scenery, as used for X-Plane, that would be truly awesome for free realistic scenery.
