    Hello out there.

I am trying to build a race simulator like the SimForceGT (or flex).
I almost finish with the frame and mounting the seat.
I want to use pneumatik valves and cylinders and a Velleman VM110 because I already have them.
I also want to use the setting from Frex, because then no pots just springs. But not sure what more I need.

    I have:

    2 5/3 Festo Valves
    2 Cylinder
    1 Velleman VM110 (Conrad K8055D)
    1 Logitech Momo Race

and off cause the frame, seat and so on.

And last is the a guide about where to start when I am ready, or do you just try something. (I have been trying Force sender with my logitech for a sneak peak)

    Hi

    Wellcome!

You have the frame and the pneumatic equipment. Perfect! The rest is just trying ;)

Are your valves center open or closed?
Tell me the dimensios of your cylinders, and how many connections do they have.

After your setup is ready, you'll have to change the valve matrix a little. The Y -axis has to combine both cylinders.
You'll get help with it when time has come.

You could show us some pics of your setup ;)

    regards

    Hey..

Sounds super. I will take some pictures soon. (Just have a little holiday trip first)
Are your valves center open or closed .... they are open ( I have one closed for the seatbelt but I think thats going to be the last part of it)

Tell me the dimensios of your cylinders, and how many connections does they have.... they are 200mm long and 10mm thick. They are double working with adjustable brakes(drosselventil)

After your setup is ready, you'll have to change the valve matrix a little. The Y -axis has to combine both cylinders.
You'll get help with it when time has come.... looking forward to it.

One more thing. How must difference is where between using slider-pots and just using a springs.. and how much truble are they to use with the velleman vm110

I think the spring setup is less good, because it doesnt allow positioning. Only center position will be forced by the springs.

As you bought center open valves, you dont have another option

But it is worth trying anyway ;)

Its no problems with the valves, because I got them for free. (at work)

I think I will try to get 2 closed also... and the slider pots..

Do you have a link to the sliderpots that would need (it 10k right?)

Then I can start with the springs and when I get the parts I can try then instead.

Thanks for your help so far...

If you'll use an pot measurement system and middle closed valves you wont need springs.

Besides that. I dont know how you'll attach them. That will be the tricky part. Do you have some ideas already? You could try to use some hall-sensors.

We have our pots from this supplier.

I and most of us use 20K pots. 50K are used in the original RnR boards. Perhaps 10K work as well.

How long are the slider pots you use.. The longest I could find where 100MM and 50K.... but how that work with 200MM cylinder...

    What do you use?

How much can your cylinders move... is 100mm enough ?

okay but I only need 2 slider pots, right?

It is because the places where I have tryed to mount the sliders they have been some problems... when I make one of the cylinders move both og the sliders move because the whole chair moves.
the slider for the cylinder where is moving is ok, but the another one shoud stand still right?

Hmm, Illi attached some pots to his cylinders, but they are shorter as yours.
I think 200mm are too long anyway...

If you find a supplier who sells cheap and durable pots (not plastic) as long as those, let us know ;)

    Yes

But perhaps you dont have to attach them directly to the cylinders. Try to attach them to your pivot point under your seat.

    Hey

My setup is almost finish. The frame is almost done just need at chair and the wiring and a new kompressor. (but the chair will first arrive in 10 days........)

Is there any files or helps to setup the matrix for a simforcegt setup.. just to get started. So I could play with it until the chair arrives.

You could motivate us a little bit with some pics ;)

BTW, how is your setup gonna be like? 2 or 4 valves, middle closed or open? Every modification of the setup needs another config in the matrix.
