So is it preferred to comment on older threads linked from the FAQ or start a new thread?

The FAQs are a bit of a gateway to information, which is really useful to get your head around some of the fundamentals, but after some time researching there you can post relevant questions to your build thread.

The community expectation is that people will first help themselves by researching questions they have in mind, but then feel free to check with the community via your build thread: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/community-etiquette.82/

FAQ to get started yes indeed. My question was do I add a comment/question on a "old FAQ thread" or start a new thread?

As for a build thread? Where I am now. I am still figuring out what questions to ask.

Go through the FAQs and if you have a question about what you find there that is relevant to your project then post it on your build thread rather than an old thread. That way all relevant questions and information concerning your project, even in the planning/design phase, is in one place and is much easier to find and follow.

Thank you for the answer. Just wanted to know and did not want to make a mistake.

Still got a bit more reading to do before I start a build thread.
