There is no question there have been spates of false RSR times based on hacking physics outside of actual game settings. That is where alien times come from and RSR has been reset many times because of it.

That said AC is a simulator, it is not real life, and actually allows for the manipulation of environment, settings and vehicle use that is not possible IRL. AC itself would have to preclude a lot to actually be comparable to real life.

In terms of the time posted it is pretty clear the significant advantage in setting the time was manipulating the temperature, which is common on RSR.

In RSR you can check what basic car and environment settings they are using with the Information icon, but not what Tuning tweaks they are running:

still stuck at 2.50 ! lol
yeah had a look at it now and found some times i would be second with my 2.50 on same tyres using gear stick too. one on there is 2.47 so i ain't done too bad with the slippery bugger :) he he.
but no idea if they mess with owt else tho to which i could turn turbo up and tyres pressures and other settings i guess i don't no they done that or not. but happy with where i am with it now always room to improve tho, iv'e now finally got the feeling better in the wheel and its awesome can feel the back of the car now and the grip level abit more. so gunna have few more laps get used to that and go for some more times ;-)

Unfortunately I tend to do hotlaps only when testing something, which is not often and sometimes months apart, and for me Nords is my go to track, or Monza if I want something that is relatively flat and short.

For your challenge you could share an RSR settings file, but keep in mind people tweak their setups to suit their driving style. In real or simulated driving one size definitely does not suit all. It would be more interesting if people would be willing to share their settings for their top times and others could tweak from there.
