Looks like there are sigificant changes likely to liven up F1, including 5-6 second faster cars, refulling reintroduced, greater team tire choise, lighter cars and more agressive arodynamics: http://www.espn.co.uk/f1/story/_/id/12890898/refuelling-return-f1-2017

they should ditch drs and put a stronger kers in it so overtaking on the straights would be more of a challenge. But nice that something is being done to make it more exciting.

I would agree with bob, DRS makes the racing planned, KERS would make the drivers choice hopefully used as required and not when told to by the pit wall

Refuelling would also help to liven up the "spectacle" that I enjoy watching

I think F1 has known for a long time that it has been struggling against high spectator excitement spectacles like NASCAR.

If it is just about deep pockets rather than competitive racing then it is not just the fans but also the teams that will think twice about F1 participation. Red Bull has been pretty up front about that being their view.

yes but thats because Red Bull have that much funding, apart from driver skill, they can stay at the top of the field.
Its all fine and dandy changing rules like tyres, but then richer teams can get special tyres made up.
Same thing with aero work, richer teams can afford to spend more time in wind tunnels and in development.
Lighter cars dont come cheap either.
    money money money.....

Red Bull only started complaining the moment they weren't dominating anymore. F1 does need a big overhaul, and @bsft is right, the richer teams always win. Same thing with V8 Supercars.

True, more money normally means a win on race day. But F1 was meant to be the pinnacle of motor racing - Ie. the fastest/quickest even wildest ride around a track of any motorsport category, which I don't think has been the case since they have continually toned down the cars specifications. I remember reading stories of how much respect the drivers had for these cars in the past, it took allot of skill/balls to drive one at its limits - many F1 drivers don't think that is the case these days.
