    Hi,
my name is Christian I´m a beginner her in this forum. I assembled a 2dof Sim successful and I would like to use 3 beamers combined with the eyefinity technology. Unfortunately the Beamers don´t have a dvi interface. Only VGA and HDMI. Are there any possibilities to get a proper solotion via HDMI interface? I guess a VGA connection is not the best idea.

I haven't tried it on the EyeFinity but I can't think of reason off the top of my head why you coulnd't use an HDMI to VGA adapter or HDMI to DVI , etc... There are adpaters to interchange between most connection possibilities and they are cost effectively available at most electronics stores.

    Hi Berney,
the problem I have, Raedeon advise to use the DVI connetion from the grafic card an additional the the displayport connection adapted with an active displayport to dvi. With monitors it should not be a problem but I have no dvi interfaces on my Beamers. Only the HDMI and VGA interfaces. I think it is possible to adapted al interfaces to VGA, but in case of this I am not able to get a landscape view witch is neccessary for eyefinity. If I could use the HDMI (DVI adapted to HDMI) than i can get a better quality on my screen. But this is not possible obviously. If I connected the beamer in this way, one of the interfaces are shooting down.

    Christian,

The ATI cards come with 2 DVI connectors, 1 HDMI connector and one Displayport connector. One of the DVI connectors and the HDMI are the same output. You will need to convert the displayport to a DVI connection using the new and inexpensive Saphire displayport to single link DVI adapter that sells for about $30 US. All you need after that are 3 cables the convert from DVI to HDMI and you're are good to go.

You no longer need the expensive active displayport to DVI adapter since the release of the low cost adapter.

    Hi,
that is very interesting for me!! But unfortunately I have an expencive active displayport to dvi adapter.
If I connected the two dvi´s and the dp to dvi adapter to hdmi, one of the hdmi interfaces of the card are shooting down in windows desktop. Is it probably necessary to get deeper into a game for activating of eyefinity or is clear pictured in windows dektop?

I'm not sure what you mean when you say that one of the HDMI interfaces is shutting down. What type of active displayport adapter do you have?. Your connection should be to the 2 DVI connectors on the card and the other DVI connector on the displayport adapter. You should not be using the HDMI port on the card at all if you are using both DVI connections on the card.

What's the brand and model number of the card you're using?

Fisrt of all, are you able to get your sim working with any other games other than F1? Also make sure that you are using the latest F1/Dirt2 plugin for x-sim for best results. There is a post where Sirnoname posted the latest plugins for F1/Dirt2 and GRID. Also, what is the path to the config file that you are updating? You should be updating the file located in your documents directory not in the Program files directory.

Ah.. You mean it is not necessary to change the Game Config from Codemaster? I try to have a look on it.
    Thanks!!

    Hi again,
comming back to the grafic card. It is an ATI 5850 and you are absolutly right, on the card there are two dvi, one hdmi and one dp interfaces. I like to discribe the config. of my equipment.
I have three beamers with hdmi and vga interfaces. For the connetction I used two adapter cable (dvi to hdmi) and conected this two adpter cable between the card and the beamer´s. The third beamer was connected with an active dp to dvi adapter (on the card) and from this adapter with an adpter cable (dvi to hdmi) to the third beamer. So I try to use hdmi ports directly on all beamer´s. In my windows 7 system where only two displays active without the possibility to activate the third one.
It looks like an useless configuration.

    Hi,

You could try this config ... never tested it but it should work.

    - 2 DVI cables from the card to beamer's vga's using 2 cheap DVI to VGA adapters:
    http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/prod ... id=1342490
You could find cheaper ones, this is only an exemple.

    - Your active Displayport to DVI from the card to beamer's vga using the same cheap DVI to VGA adapter. If you are not able to make it work using this combination, it will definitelly work with this adapter:
    http://www.accellcables.com/products/Di ... dp_vga.htm

This Displayport to VGA adapter will cost you around 40$:
    http://www.ecost.com/Detail.aspx?edp=57556350

You should also be able to transmit up to 1080p using this config. Honestly I never saw any difference in picture quality between a DVI and VGA on the same resolution, you should give it a try if you are not able to make it work via HDMI. I have no solution for you HDMI issue.
