The Holden Commodore has been synonymous with V8 Supercars and places like Mt Panorama. As an Aussie I don't think it really matters if you are a Holden or Ford fan, touring car racing is a part of the national psyche. I fondly remember my annual pilgrimages to Mt Panorama through my late teens and 20s. There is nothing like camping out on top of the mountain and hearing the cheer of the crowd wind its way up ahead of the actual cars on the first lap.

In some ways it is an end of an era. The last Aussie built Commodore is about to go on sale. In many ways Holden saved the best for last, as this will be the most powerful Commodore ever built, powered by a 6.2L LS3 engine: http://www.holden.com.au/new-vf2-co...er&utm_source=social_media&utm_content=social

I have this fantasy that one day Assetto Corsa may do a laser scanned rendition of Mt Panorama and include old and new racers, from the likes of the Minis, which dominated early on, to home grown classics such as the Toranas, Phase 3 Falcons right up to the last VFII Commodore...I can but dream about the ultimate AC Dream Pack!
