    Hallo,

wollte nur mal meinen aktuellen Stand berichten:

    http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=mC9KVyT3LVU&feature=channel_page

    Sektion in diesem Forum?

Man kann als nehmen was man will !

Thank you I am pleased that you like it!

So it is an Audi A8 tachometer.
But it is completely cleared, which I use only the measuring devices,
the lights, my gear display, lights and speed leds.
you can take as you want!

There is no smoke sensor, ists a Peeper.

thanos i generate a frequenz vom 1 to 250Hz for a aircoil Chip
    like the LM 1819 .. I use a Renault Chip ELEX14308.
But i play with serveral Chips: using a Servo ist to slow. You need a cheap servo
with 270 deg. I kill 2 servos, so i stop. The servo needs 1..20ms for 0..100%
If you go below 1ms, the gears crashes !

Or controlling the VW GOLF III Tacho. It work like a stepper motor.
    But i need 8000 rpm and 280Km/h.

But the easiest way it to use big instruments with a big pointer.
e.g. PWM output from the controller to a current 0..1mA.
I stop playing with a LCD tacho. Its to hard for programming.

If you use the new SIM2 and lcdhype its simple !
I can paste all diagrams and source !

Ich kann die Schaltungen und Programme posten.

    Hi Dirk,

Can you share the diagrams for connections please? I'm interested to see it.

I found a cheap NISSAN PRIMERA P11 Cluster I could use. Do you think its compatible with the aircoil driver you mention?

Do you mean you apply this frequency on the existing electronics of the cluster? (in each instrument input...?), I could program my AMC to output that frequency I guess.

Also, I can't find anywhere the Renault Chip ELEX14308 you mention... Any link?

Most cluster I encountered here in Greece, cost from 50 to 180 euro!!! :(

Re: ElektronikJack aktueller DIY Sim mit XSIM2 und Tacho

    Hi Thanos !

I know it's not easy to find the right car tacho board.
i went to many auto graveyards and searching for a board up to 6000rpm and up to 220

Km/h. So i buy with luck a Audi A8 board with a destroyed information display. i get

it for 20euro. On this pcb are two coil driver KEZA300 from ITT. each control a smal

180deg and a big 270deg air coil meter. But i make the mistake and destroy the µP on

the pcb, so i can't measure and testing the function of this serial bus controlled

chips. :thbd: So i decide to separate the tachocontroller from the meter controller.

It's really simple ! : the PC send from the new SIM2 over the lcdhype gauche plugin

    the
data over a second com like this s280r17200t70g39m2e
    s=speed,r=rpms,t=temperatur;g=gasoline-tank and end marker

And the Tachocontroller send any changes like this
    Print r ; Drehzahl ; s ; Geschwindigkeit ; t ; Temperatur ; g ; Tank ; e
    but as a byte 0..255 = 0..100%

So if you only whant the meters ( not the lights, gear

LED,beeper, switches, ignition, engine starter...) you need only the meter controller.

    I try many meters:
-rc-servos : the are cheap 5euro, but slow, and you to change it from 180deg to

    270deg
the controller is simple: 1..20ms = 0..100%, but go below 1ms kill the gearbox!
-normal mA meter is cheap from 5euro and simple over pwm to control. but the meter

    angle is only 90deg
-i buy VW golf III tacho by ebay for 20Euro. the uses steppermotors (i see this in

a new smal BMW). the control chip hat for every meter-motor the direction and step

inputs. i make a controller for this too. but this tacho goes only up to 6000rpm and

200Km/h. i whant to finish this project for other people.
-the air-coil controller uses the ELEX14308 for every big 270deg meter and simple PWM

    and a l298 for the small 90deg meter .

i try to fix all projects an then paste all at a gauche section.

if you whant to use the air-coil meters direct on you controller you need 4 pwm

outputs as frequency outputs and the cpu power.

    lets talk about that

    bye dirk

    Hi Dirk,

    sollte etwas bei <a class=postlink href=http://www.x-sim.de/hardware_tacho.html onclick=window.open(this.href);
    return false;>http://www.x-sim.de/hardware_tacho.html</a> rein ?

    Hey,

    Hi Dirk,

    Any progress on this? :sos:

I'd like to see the schematic of the circuit you used to drive the air-coils. The one that you used the ELEX14308 and the l298 for the 90deg coils...

I'll start to experimenting on a PWM controller for driving so it would be nice to have something as reference. There really not much information about this around.

Alternatively I might try controlling my Nissan cluster thru OBD serial protocol... If I figure the correct connections!!

    Hi Thanos

    nice to hear from you.

i starting to show my controller:

    http://www.x-simulator.de/wiki/Tacho_Co ... tronikjack

you whant to connect the air-core meter direct to a board without
    a air-core driver chip ? is this correct ?
So i need a little brain-bussy time to go the right way.
like this : send the sin and cos value to a D/A converter and then over the l298 stages to the meters?

Do you think 8bit resolution for enouth for each signal ?
then i can use the cheap shiftregister chips and a R2R array.

I think using 8(6) PWM PWM Chanels to create the sin cos Signal for the meters ist not good, or? if i use the shift register it's
a static value and the changes are not so fast !

    I make a circut.
    I'm happy for some ideas

    bye Dirk
