was doing my usual eBay browse when I stumbled across this. Please don't be anyone on here selling this. How does it work? Gravity, nothing more.
You lean with the stick, it leans. YOU are the motor.

Quite possibly the biggest waste of money I have ever seen. These things are $4000 new.

It's basically a large Moses basket!

Actually the Dream Flyer has since been superseded by the Cloud Flyer, which narrowly missed its Kickstarter funding target of $25000 mid last year: http://www.cloud-flyer.com/

Yes it does work on leverage and gravity, and is only suitable for flight sims. The Cloud Flyer is designed as a compact kit that can be flat packed for shipping and the Kickstarter price point was around $800 USD I think.

The Cloud Flyer will suit some people. I had some correspondence with the creator, Doc Holloway, as the Cloud Flyer would suit my father really well. Dad only does flight sims but would much prefer mechanical simplicity over a computer driven sim for himself. Dad does like my sim, but that is because tech support is on hand any time he comes over to use it.

So I guess it is horses for courses when it comes to powered and unpowerd simulators.

$800 is better. It was the US$4000 tag that had me astounded..

The poor bugger. Just watching some YouTube videos on Doc and he pretty much poured his life savings into the project. And yes - Some lowlife is selling his units at $4000 and touting it as some fancy fighter pilot school trainer.

Tell you... the things you find on the web....

If you could afford that $ for a sim you could buy yourself a ship to get it here ;)

I could easily build a variation of Doc's Cloud Flyer but would rather support Doc's efforts and buy one for my dad if and when Doc is able to finalize production. He was having discussions to try an have local manufacturers, including in Australia, but I think that was proving harder than he expected.
