Anyone using a DOF Reality platform with MSFS2020? I am in the process of downloading/installing MSFS2020 and plan to use my H3. I have downloaded the plugin and hope to be up and running in the next day or so.

I really like to hear about anyone's experiences with setting up MSFS and a DOF Reality platform.

Well, I got MSFS2020 and my H3 working together. The movement isn't where I want it yet, but, it is a start. VR in MSFS2020 is certainly smoother than in P3DV5, if anyone wanted to know. I'll post more as I get the setup tuned.

Sorry if I posted in the wrong forum. I looked at the forum for Simtools Help, but didn't see any posts other than tips.

I have attached two files. One showing my axis setup for Default and one showing the axis setup for MSFS2020. Using either of these setups results in the same issue. The Extra2 setting control pitch instead of roll. Extra1 also and correctly controls pitch. Extra3 works as expected.

    Regards,

    Danny

DOFreality have an odd axis layout by default, so can I just check that your rig is configured with the DIR settings to move as would be expected: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/which-way-to-set-simtool-axis-movements.230/

Grab a copy of the SimTools manual and keep it handy for reference: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/rtfm-start-with-the-official-simtools-documentation.117/

Then see the FAQ Tuning Tips here: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/steps-to-create-a-motion-profile.228/

When first refining a motion profile it is important to initially do each axis individually.

When it comes to getting an axis smooth the Tuning Center values are just as important as the Axis Assignments. As per the FAQ Tuning Tips you can assign more axis assignment for a flight sim profile than you would for a car profile, so your axis allocations are a bit low.

Filters are handy in flight sim profiles, but they should be added last, as refinements, once the rest of the profile is complete and fined tuned to be the best it can.

Can you please post a picture of your Interface Settings, so we know how many actual axis there are, as your settings below suggest 4 and I am not sure if that is correct.

Thanks for the help. I did notice I had set a 4th axis and should not have. I have deleted the 4th asis. Extra2 is still controlling the pitch and Extra1 is still controlling roll. You can see at the top of the Axis assignment picture that the Extra1 and Extra2 to control the functions as I described. This is completely opposite to what I see in P3DV5.

I thought the function relationship for the axis was established in the plugin. So, I contacted the gentleman who wrote the MSFS2020 plugin and he suggested it was a simtools issue.

As mentioned there is a convention in terms of how a rig is configured, as the DIR settings determine which way a rig axis moves, here is the correct link as I accidentally posted the incorrect one earlier and had to correct that: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/which-way-to-set-simtool-axis-movements.230/

And to complicate matters in the case of DOFreality rigs one of the axis is reversed by default, though I can't remember which one.

So the issue is more likely your rig and/or settings rather than the plugin.
