    Hi all,

I have just setup my DOF Reality P3, everything is working in multiple games however I notice that in Dirt Rally there is one thing a bit odd. When going uphill the sim doesn't tilt back (I think it tilts forward slightly) and when going downhill it tilts back slightly. Im guessing something in Motor directions is reversed but I have tried modifying the 'dir' checkbox in Pitch and Heave. Both of those don't seem to be the correct axis/setting.

Could this be another setting somewhere?

    Thanks for your help,

Thanks for the link, When I select Pitch in Simtools output testing its tilting my rig left and right instead of forwards/backwards so I think something must be incorrect with the default settings i'm using.

Its strange that everything else feels ok in game though, I would have thought it would all feel completly wrong if pitch is actually acting as roll.

Although Project Cars 2 seems to work perfectly with similar settings, so it seems to just be something in Dirt Rally settings which is causing the up/down tilt to be backwards. :(

That does sound like your Dir setting are messed up, change them to match what SimTools expects: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/which-way-to-set-simtool-axis-movements.230/

Dirt Rally is a bit of an oddball, and there is more than one plugin for it, but if Output Testing is wrong then your Dir settings are definitely messed up.

There is a dedicated DOFreality thread for owners: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/low-cost-2dof-3dof-motion-simulator-dof-reality.8570/

And that thread includes a link to some suggested settings, but as I have said many times the total Axis Allocation of many 100s of % is going to result in clipping: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/dof-reality-platforms-presets-profiles-and-tips.11273/

These are the steps to create a motion profile from scratch, once you sort your Dir settings out: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/steps-to-create-a-motion-profile.228/

I'm experiencing the same thing with pitch. my pitch is going from tilt left and right and roll is tilting the seat forward and backward. I just set up my P3 last week and trying to tweak it now I'm pulling my hair out and I have quite a bit of tech background but just too new to the sim setups. I'll def be keeping an eye on this thread to see how to get this working right. I cannot get surge working either in iRacing nor AC (not hi-jacking your thread, but just stating). Hope you figure it out how to swap pitch and roll because I need to do the same thing.

The Dir box in Axis Assignments being checked orange or not determines which way each axis moves. This is what SimTools expects: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/which-way-to-set-simtool-axis-movements.230/

By default DOFreality rigs have an odd Dir assignment, contrary to most rigs here, which really leads to confusion for new owners.

Should Pitch be tilting the seat left/right (and roll going forward and backward) when testing them axis? It seems like tdg911 and me are having the same issue with our new rigs. Although i've only really noticed the pitch being opposite in Dirt Rally so far. I haven't done much more testing since my original post but unselecting the 'dir' for pitch did not resolve the issue.

In Dirt Ralley, initial acceleration seems to give the correct feeling (Tilt back) but going up/down hills gives the opposite direction to what would be expected.

I think it might take a lot more testing of each individual axis to try and resolve.

The rig should be configured as SimTools expects: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/which-way-to-set-simtool-axis-movements.230/

If movement is correct as SimTools expects, but in-game movement is wrong, then everyone would be affected the same and it can be reported as a plugin bug. But the more likely case is that your rig is not configured correctly. But you should use LFS to determine the base configuration, not Dirt Rally, as the latter does have some motion oddities.

Same problem with my DIY 2DOF, pitch inverted in dirt rally. In all other games have the same configuration for axis

Simply use the 'Dir' buttons (direction buttons) in the Axis Assignment for the game to swap the direction of motion for pitch.
    Take care,
