    Hi

This design is my take on a couple of diy actuators found on the net

35 mm square aluminium tube as ram, with inverted gas strut inside to balance weight of sim.

4 fixed castors at top to guide ram, 4 travelling castors fixed to bottom of ram.

timing belt drive using two pulleys, belt fixed to bottom of ram. 24volt DC gearhead motor driving bottom pulley.

rough sketch attached front cover of box and side belt cover not shown.

your thoughts, will it work, have enough power to create a Motion Sim, Force Dynamics type sim?

could use four rams instead of three.

    regards Terry
