    Hello Friends,[IMG]

I'm trying to setup SimTools for the first time on my Sim but I am not very knowledgeable about these things and struggling a bit.

I think I got the right interface settings for my Thanos AMC1280USB but not 100% sure.

I'm still very unsure of how to configure the axis assignments for a 6DOF Stewart Platform. I'm setting up for Elite Dangerous specifically.

See my attached images, of my current settings, I'm still trying to work my way through and understand the manual as much as I can.

Looking forward to my first SimTools experience!

    Thanks for any help,

    Trip

Thanks Noorbeast! Looks like I was pretty close on that part.

What about my axis assignments? Any examples of 6DOF Stewart setups I can use to get started?

No luck, maybe I'm misunderstanding something.

Here are my current settings, copy and pasted from your post above:

But when I click "Output Testing" and then on the "Axis Testing" tab with it set to "DOF output" I click "Turn on" and it turns green but it is not communicating with my Thanos board. The Thanos board shows "receiving data" on it's LCD screen when it's connected, and it is not doing that.

Another motion software I used previously works right now if I turn it on, com5 port.

    Any ideas?

PS- Just for the hell of it I tried Launching Elite Dangerous, the AMC did not connect and I got an error popup, I think it said "exception address: 0" or something similar.

The COM port for the AMC is definitely 5

I have to sleep shortly, so it might be until tonight before I check in again. I'm dying to try Elite Dangerous VR with motion!

I had already modified the settings for you in my earlier post to suit the SimTools 2 Interface Output format: AB<Axis1a><Axis2a><Axis3a><Axis4a><Axis5a><Axis6a>

Sorry about that NoorBeast, I accidentally posted the wrong image. I did indeed copy and paste the new format from your post (now reflected in image in the post above) but SimTools still doesn't seem to connect to the AMC1280USB.

Everything else in that post was current, just the wrong image, sorry.

Where an axis serves multiple assignments you should aim for a total of around 100%, you can go a bit higher but don't over do it or you risk clipping

To run a game you have to create a motion profile for it and then patch the game with Game Manager. But you first need to sort out the interface issue.

So am I correct in assuming that you tested by moving the sliders in Output Settings?

Update: I think it's working now. It didn't work until after I rebooted my PC and started over from scratch but my AMC just went into online mode!

Now I just have to power up the sim and see what happens. I'll report back.

Alright, SimTools 2.0 is working with my sim now and my profile looks to be working great!

Next problem, I'm not getting motion from the Elite Dangerous plugin. When I launch the game the sim does go into drive and moves to it's center position but nothing after that and that "exception address: 0" window that I showed a couple posts above is present.

Alright got it working! Thanks for the help NoorBeast.
