    Hi guys n gals.
Ive not ran dirt rally since prob oct/nov and ive got stutter issues and really bad vr performance.
    I run a gtx108o founders ed, fx8350, 16gig ram.
This was never ever an issue was fault less before but now i just can not play it, to get anything out of it i have to run on full low setting it looks so crap its embarrassing.
Ive tried turning asw off no difference at all.
Hovers at 45-55fps sometime 90fps thru a lap.
Im just lost now why it was so good now so bad.

Cheers for any help in advance.

How dirty is the inside of your PC?
Maybe a fan is plugged or went bad?

Have you made sure you are in the window that is running Dirt like I mean click your mouse inside the window so focus is on the Dirt or run the game in fullscreen (Alt+Enter) let me know if that helps

@f1iceman - In the game, go to Graphics settings and run the "Benchmark" Let it complete. This will tell you what DiRT thinks it can run at. If that all reports back OK then the game is "interfacing" with your GFX card and the actual frame rate issue might be something else?!

How are other games on the GTX1080?

DiRT runs just fine with my now quite old GTX970. I have the latest Nvidia drivers installed also.

EDIT: I just recalled... My DiRT would put me in the car but with a black screen (Just after Xmas after not playing for a few weeks) and then bomb out. I had to unplug my Oculus from both the HDMI and USB 3.0 to fully reset it. Maybe try the old IT trick of "Have you reset everything?" :D

NOTE: I let DiRT fire up without the Oculus plugged in to make sure the game was resetting as well. Ran a quick sprint lap and then restarted the game again, but with the Oculus Plugged in this time.

    so far i have done

unistalled dirt rally ( not worked )
repaierd oculus software (not worked )
    unistalled ffb wheel (not worked)
tried different nvidia drivers ( not worked) on the latest build now 376.60

what i found was also no limits 2 after i updated iot is not working the same as dirt rally i think or basically have to run it crap for it to work but really is crap n not right.
i have turned off the asw which i thinks does help abit as now i can run slightly better graphics but still jitters n stutters.

so far i have tested assetto corsa and that runs fine no issues.
i did change usb for the t500 but i tried it on controller and unistalled that but still the same thing.

i must admit that could work with the benchmark as i had assetto corsa play up once for that reason now you have reminded me

will report back soon still up messing here ! lol

hi matey that has helped with the glitching he he ! just like it did in assetto corsa bloody hell was supposed to do that after re-installin g it der.
its abit better but still abit crap to what it was but livable now.
im going to hold station with it as it is and wait till i move to my other comp with intel chip in it.

i also changed a few bits in the nvidia setting too so all in all i can play it.

    at least its livable now.

    thank you xx

ps not tried nolimits agin yet tho.

    holy poop on a stick.
ive been trying to get dirt to run well still and boy have i sorted it.
considering im running amd fx8350 8gbram and gtx1080 n a crappy motherboard thats really old now asus m5a97rev1.
i can now run with asw locked at 45 fps and run everysingle thing on and with everything on ultra settings yup every single thing even ground, with oculus pixel setting @ 2.0.
it is mega now totally smooth looks awesome best it ever has now.
i have no idea whats done it as ive messed about that much with ! lol so its lots and lots of things.
    o i did overclock cpu from 4ghz to 4.4ghz.
if i turn asw off tho i get abit of stutter and frame drops to about 75 so causes a problem but my new pc build should sort that out if i dont get the same issues after the build ! lol
i have yet to try other games but will tomoz see if that improves aswell.
i am going to try full rain and water to see if i get any issues with that as been using a not so draining track.

    happy happy happy atm.
i will do an update on what i did when i know my self as its bios and everythin g ive messing with.

My Dirt had always ran great until the other night it was hellish, then I messed around with that much stuff I fixed it but god knows what fixed it for me its still a mystery as everything else was and still works fine.

PC's nothing ever simple with them lol

Edit: when I say hellish it was running at about 5-10 fps around every 10 seconds for about 5 seconds then would be ok then back to low fps it was awful

Would you say it was glitching n stuttering as thats what mine was doing.
What ever i did on mine tho let set everything on ultra n thats a 1st for any game on my system in vr.asw on mind but still still no where near the same in ither games.
I think it helps to launch oculus first in admin tho.
My gpu was not hitti g usage or my cpu before but now i get the usage.
I will try again tomoz to make sure its not luck. Lol

A bit off topic, but I thought ASW was constant now on the Rift?
How do you switch it on and off? Is it still via the Regedit trick?

    Thanks :)

PS - Glad you got it working. Between DiRT Rally, Arizona Sunshine and SuperHOT VR I'm in VR heaven...

You can use shortcuts to toggle ASW modes:

    ctrl + 1 = no ASW , ctrl + 2 = 45fps , ctrl + 3 = 45fps + ASW , ctrl + 4 = 90fps but ASW turns ON when drops below 90fps. The numbers from numpad
