    Hi Guys, I cannot get simtools and other apps to work at the same time.
    Simtools only works when its coming from the game directly and not via a proxy server or other method.

    This is only with the older (and more fun imho) Dirt 2 and dirt 3. Dirt 4 and dirt rally support more ports with differents api's in the hardware_settings_info.config file.

    Does anyone know if there is a workaround? Codemasters proxyserver does not work (in fact never worked for me) I also use simdash, this has sharing capabilities witch did work in the past, however it does not specify api version.

    Is simtools only compatible with api version 0? (extradata=0)

    I am looking for working Simdash, simtools and simvibe.

    Thanks!

    PS motion is really good with these games! lots of fun

    Dirt Rally works fine with extradata=3, but I don't know for older Dirts.

    Dirt 3 also has that problem when it crashes once you cross the finish line if you are using motion, I think that problem was never fixed by devs.

    Yes, but there is a telemetryfix app for that, so Dirt 3 works fine. In fact its one of the best regarding with feel in motion.

    Ok so after some hours of testing and trying no succes with Dirt 2 and 3.

    There is no way to get motion via the codemasters proxyserver. Or there is no motion, or its completly wrong. Only thing that works sadly is direct via the game, so no simvibe or dash for these games for me :-(

    I tried api 0, 1 and 3. and the drt.exe trick also did not work.

    Ah well maybe i will try windows 7 instead of 10 on another partition, as i suspect this has something to do with it.

    ok update.
    Just installed Win7, thats not it.

    In the meanwhile i found out that using in the dirt 2 hardwaresetting config extradata=0 instead of 3 motion works via the proxy server, but then the other apps (guages, simvibe etc) not.

    So the solution is updating the Dirt 2 and 3 plugin to at least accept api 1 or even 3???

    I really hope someone can make that happen... :-(
    I would even pay for the solution for these old amazing games....

    Cheers guys

    Hi Buddy,
    If your using the other software on another pc then you may be able to do this.
    I believe Codemaster games have a cool feature where you can output to multiple locations at once.
    So once the game is patched with SimTools, open your 'hardware_settings_config' file for the game.

    Find the line that looks something like this:
    " <udp enabled="true" extradata="3" ip="127.0.0.1" port="4123" delay="1" />"

    Make a copy of it and add another on directly under the one that is already there.'
    So now you have
    <udp enabled="true" extradata="3" ip="127.0.0.1" port="4123" delay="1" />
    <udp enabled="true" extradata="3" ip="127.0.0.1" port="4123" delay="1" />

    Then edit the second line to goto the ip you need.
    Take care,
    yobuddy
