DCS is releasing 1.5 Open Beta after they do a 'smoke test':http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=147601

It is hard to say if the existing motion plugin will be affected but it could well be, as the pending 1.5 changes are significant particularly with the introduction of a new graphics engine. VR fans will be pleased to see the introduction of Direct Display Mode, which will finally put the menu issues out to pasture. This is just the general summary:

    • New unified executable. Separate executables are no longer used for the front end and simulation.
    • New graphics engine with the following features: DirectX 11 Support, optimized for GPU rather than CPU, improved lighting and shadowing, and improved graphical effects like contrails, flares and missile trail smoke, improved water
    • Improved VR support with Direct Display mode and VR front end GUI, but still very much work-in-progress until hardware reaches consumer release versions
    • Corrected track synchronization errors

Rift support may now be baked into DCS 1.5 Open Beta but there are plenty of early bug reports by Rift users, which should be expected with any beta program testing.

Reports include frequent game crashes, clouds still rotating unrealistically with head movements, some plane specific bugs, frame rate issues and the like: https://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments/3n57lc/dcs_world_15_beta_released_with_improved_rift/

I expect there will be a consistent stream of updates, how fast that happens is not yet known and DCS devs have somewhat of a reputation for taking their time!

If you are leaping in to DCS Open Beta testing then expect a few bugs. So far these are some of the DCS threads dealing with the most common Rift related issues for v1.5:

    General Crashes: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=147767

    Washed out rift view: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=148218

Off axis head rotation, likely related to the 0.6.0.1 runtime, the downside is updating to the latest Oculus 0.7 runtime will break other things relying on extended mode: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=148209
