    My Motion Simulator:
    2DOF
    Hi all,

I registered some time ago but until now I haven't have the time to get serious with this software!

My story started several years ago. My father and I, created a 2DOF simulator with Arduino. Back them, we used the software XSIM and it was working really well until a couple of years ago, that the software started to give more problems than fun-time. Here are some pictures of the SIM:

Sadly, my father passed away last year and as a personal project, I decided to make the simulator work again.
I found XSIMULATOR online and after download it and follow the setup, I am not able to make it work :(.

I know that the 2DOF is still working as expected because the other software that I have on my windows machine makes it work.
The drivers and the configuration of the Arduino looks like this:

Based on the setup guide, I configured the 'Interface Settings' like this:

    Interface Settings.png

And for the Axis, I used Generic 2D Basic preset:

    simtools.png

When I click on the 'Output Testing', I am able to connect to the DOF but when I move the axis nothing happens...

Does anyone knows if I am missing any step or if there is any configuration that I am missing? Is there any place where I can see relative details about configuring 2DOF?
I'm really willing to make it work again and even configuring an external gauge :)

    Thanks in advance! :)

First off with the current version of SimTools it is best to use English Local for the language settings: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/simtools-language-setting-bug-change-to-english-local.233/

For SimTools 2 in the Interface Settings instead of axis defined like this <Axis1> it now has designate grouping for a or b for each axis assignment, like this <Axis1a>

This is how you refine a motion profile for SimTools: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/steps-to-create-a-motion-profile.228/

I am presuming you are using an Arduino so what code are you running on it?

Thank you for the quick response!

You are presuming fine, the simulator was made using Arduino. But I am not able to find anywhere the code that is on it. Is there anywhere where I can see what code is running right now on it?

I believe that the code may be the sirnoname's xsim one, but I'm not 100% sure:

So then the interface output should be L<Axis1a>R<Axis2b>?

    Regards!

No, the interface should be L<Axis1a>R<Axis2a>

If the existing code does not play nice with SimTools then try SMC3, as it has good instructions and a handy app for doing the settings: http://www.xsimulator.net/community...3dof-motor-driver-and-windows-utilities.4957/
