I was wondering the answer to your question myself! I have noticed that when you contribute something to the community you receive coins. If you download a resource it costs you coins. I wonder if you can get into debt? lol. It looks like a way to identify deadbeats that take but don't give back that much to the community!

There is a list of the richest people on the forum, but I'm on mobile so can't paste the link, I think you can find it when you click on those coins. I'm on my way to the top 10 :)

And there are also few in debt, to answer your question. We need to wait for the boss to explain what it is, I'm hoping he will come with something like 'One coin equals one dollar and it will be transferred to your PayPal' :)

Just to manage expectations: I don't think René is dealing with bitcoins here when he assigns you like 6 coins for a post :grin

Top top 10 richest people have to pay all their coins into a charity project equally to to real money...not! (Although the idea is not bad at all:))
No no guys, i am just kidding :D

It will be something like a reward system for active people like you, with the thought to have a lever to motivate new members to be more active at the forum (presenting their projects, writing cool stuff for SimTools like companion apps or publishing new firmware any interface etc.)
Currently we are fiddling around with things you can spent for that collected coins here at xsimulator and we will post more about it when its getting concrete.

    Btw.
Unfortunately not, can not payout you with paypal coins equally to bitcoins. One bitcoin is equal to 750$ at the moment.
That exceed any budget the community has. Nevertheless how cool or worth full your post or content will be:)

I have a couple of questions about coins.

When I opened this on my laptop this morning it said I had an alert, so I clicked on it. It said I spent 10 coins for a deleted thread. What does that mean? what thread did I delete?
It also said I downloaded an attachment that cost me 10 coins yesterday. I didn't download anything that I know of. I have been doing a lot of searching through the site and clicking links on my mobile and the laptop. Would it have said I was spending coins when I did it? Anyway, what's up?

    Thanks

Hi Badderick, i assume the system reduced 10 coins because i moved your thread into another thread:
    http://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/2dof-motion-platform-concept.5301/

Attachments are zip files and images. So you did not downloaded anything?

Another thing: You have 333 coins with only 3 posts. Can you tell me how you were able to break the system, respectively how you were able to earn so many coins?:)
