Thank you, the simptools, profiles are all from here. the instructions for dofreality point to this site for the install.

its strange as no matter which anti virus scan, it will not work. even after re-downlading the install.

    i have tried
    Roguekiller: https://www.adlice.com/download/roguekiller/
    And ADWcleaner: https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner/
    https://www.f-secure.com/en_GB/web/home_gb/online-scanner

it appears the actual zip file i download from this site has the issue, so does anyone have a different source !

Then it is just a false positive and you need to report that to the antivirus vendor, as @yobuddy has previously explained SimTools does use memory hooks to extract game data for motion.

Unfortunately the way Simtools works it could be seen by some updated virus software as a virus. If you downloaded it from this site and are not happy with that, don't use it.

    @jamison1982,
Sorry for the late reply buddy, I have been sick in bed all weekend.
I have no problems with AVG and Avast.

Once I get 2.2 out and it is needed, I'll submit it to the antivirus companies for false positive clearance. Considering we are only now having these problems after SimTools has been out so long, it seems the new "adaptive learning" some antivirus companies are adding is causing some problems.

I expect that either there detection will get better, or I'll get v2.2 out and submitted to them to stop the problems.

    Chat soon guys!

i think you have misunderstood my advice, I though you were expecting Simtools to be somehow fixed? Most people know to close down their virus software to load known good software. Not exactly something special with Simtools. Sorry if I offended.

its ok i managed to get this working again with the advice from noorbeast, i messaged Bullguard regarding the issue, along with all the logs.

they simply told me to remove my anti virus (strange i know) and simply reinstall it again

This stopped the issue and its now working as it should :)

That does seem strange, as they almost always blame it on the software its having problem with. :p

Uninstalling must clear some logs of some kind?
@jamison1982, please let me know if the error comes back buddy.

Being that this problem has only surfaced, and SimTools 2.0 has been out for some time, I have to believe the problem is with their "adaptive learning" technique.

Especially since the anti-virus guys had you remove and re-install their product, and it works right after doing so, suggests this also. (I mean SimTools has not changed at all in this situation, and it work after re-installation?)

It may just be something we have to ride out for a couple of months and see where the chips lie.
I will keep an eye on things, and if I see an opportunity to fix a problem, of course I will!

    take care,
    yobuddy
