Why all the simulator are using worm motor but gear motor? Can i use the gear motor(not the worm motor) for 2 dof?The 200w one is 128r/min at 25.8nm about 70$.

as well as i know that you need is power so if newton/meter specs and speed works... why not... on the other hand the mayority of the 12v motors you see in 2dof bought out of the guy of ebay in canada or motiondinamics has worm and gears made of metal... wich i guess is something desiderable.

    best regards

I think you can't forget that a worm gear is mono-stable. Of no power is given to the motor, the gear stays at it's position. I do think that is something you'd want in a motion platform.
