I am only 18. I have ZERO knowledge in all this building and mechanical stuff. I tried reading the way some the completed 6dof projects for silentchill and seattimes were made but they're just way too hard. Like, REALLY hard for me to do on my own, almost impossible. The guides are way too advanced for people like me who have absolutely no ability to do build stuff. SO, i thought "why not buy a 3dof from dofreality.com for only $2k then upgrade it myself later when i learn how to?"

now, is that even possible...? cause i don't want to buy it then just get rid of it later when i want to build a 6dof (when i get more experience/time). That would be a huge waste of money IMO.

Another option would be for me to pay someone like $1k-$2k to help me build a 6dof FROM SCRATCH. No need to build it themselves then send if they can't, just someone to like provide me exact links to the materials needed, exact steps in what i should do first, or which wires to connect. Cause all the steps mentioned in the forums are too complicated for me, you get me? So if anyone is interested in helping me build one, please tell me, i'll pay you ($1k-$2k)

Why not just learn how to do that now? At your age is probably the best time in your life to learn new things and actually have the time to do so. Start small, make a small replica simulator with model aircraft servos and an arduino. Then build a simple windscreen wiper 2dof. By the end of it you would be ready to tackle more complex builds.

Seriously build something like this at first:

If you buy a pre built simulator, the motors may not be designed to handle the higher weight of a 6dof. There is a good reason for people building their own 6dof simulators.

No the 3dof from dofreality.com is not really suitable to upgrade to a Stewart style 6DOF rig, they really are different types of simulators.

A DIY 6DOF is possible and there are some detailed build threads, but not step by step instructions: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=site:xsimulator.net+6dof&df=m&ia=web

For example @wannabeaflyer2 provides a very detailed guide and downloadable plans for building your own linear actuators: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/diy-linear-actuator-design.8221/

The latest actuator plans are here (Dec 2016): https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/diy-linear-actuator-design.8221/page-11#post-119883

Many have made further modifications of their own, and generally outline them in their respective build threads.

Btw, i found three options till now.
    NJMotion SV3-TL ($3292)
    dofreality's 3dof version P3 ($2000)
    and kermit kong's 6dof ($3527)

Can you guys tell me which would YOU buy if you had the budget of $4k? and do you think the njmotion is THAT much better than the dofreality one?

also, which do you think are the best ones in terms of racing and then in term of flying?

when i say the best, i mean which do you think will outperform the other in terms of realism and immersion and performance
