Would you mind adding Dash support and adding Speed as value 1? I would like to use this with a fan kit I'm building. If you don't have time I'd be happy to add it myself if you'd be willing to share the source. Thanks!

WOW! Amazing turnaround time @prilad! Thank you so much and already downloaded.

I've noticed that most of the racing plugins put Speed as Dash1. I'm honestly still learning so I'm guessing that a plugin field (like Extra1) gets mapped to a Dash field. But I don't understand why Speed is usually put as Dash field 1. Is that because when it comes to dashboards speed is usually the first thing people want to see?

Thanks again for such a quick turnaround. Will play tonight!

The slot position is really arbitrary. We just said: where available, a plugin shall also issue Speed, RPM and Gear as a minimum for dashboard applications. And Extra1 data is Traction Loss per default. However this is not mandatory. (see http://www.xsimulator.net/community...a-plugin-for-simtools-api-documentation.4612/)

Extra1 - Extra3 can be mapped to an axis of the controller in GameEngine while
Dash1-Dash20 are output to the Dash app (see here http://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/game-dash.4978/)

Ah that's really helpful thanks. So, when I write my first plugin how do I decide what should be an Extra vs a Dash? I'm guessing that anything that goes to GameEngine should be related to simulation hardware right? Since speed isn't a measurement of force then there isn't really a reason to send it to GameEngine. Is that correct?

I'm thinking about creating a plugin for Minecraft that would increase the speed of my fan kit as the user moves forward and maybe when the go up in altitude. Wearing the Oculus Rift this would be to simulate movement and wind in the upper atmosphere. Not really realistic at all but I think the kids would get a kick out of it.

In that scenario I'm guessing that I would put forward Speed and Altitude as a Dash values, right?

If I made such a plugin would there be any value to me posting it here for others to download? Originally I thought it would make sense to share here, but it seems like everyone else is here for motion simulation with cars / planes / coasters, etc. Minecraft is a very different experience and that plugin wouldn't provide any useful force values.

I'd love to see a plugin for Minecraft!

Not quite sure about altitued. What would you make with this information? With the speed information you would feed the RPM of your fan, yes?
Speed you could map into Extra1 or Extra2 or Extra3 and/or to any Dash1-Dash20 slot. Obviously "Pitch", "Roll", "Heave", etc. are reserved for the respective data. However Extra1-Extra3 are open as well.

Thanks @value1. I already have altitude. That was easy. I'll see if I can find speed and ill share it when I'm done.
Why altitude AND speed? I originally wanted the fan to blow when I was high in the sky to simulate wind. Then I thought about making speed (forward momentum) ADDITIVE to the altitude wind. Is it possible to combine two dash values using the formatting expressions? If not I could make extra 3 and dash 3 something like "wind move speed". Thoughts?

Oh, and really sorry @prilad for hijacking your thread. Is there any way to move these? After the response from value1 I won't post on that again here. I'll create a new thread if I have more questions.

Fantastic job on the plugin. I just put in on one of the dual racers and did a quick profile, great stuff.
    Excellent work!

This plugin (as many others and many in future) is result of teamwork.
