Hello, same story as everyone else im sure. I have spent hours and hours reading and enjoying this website and now ready to build. I have an OButto Rev at this point and would like to build and fabricate a all-new seat design for a 2dof seat mover 2 replace the existing frame. Below is type of seat mover, I want to use 12v motors.
To start was as planning on ordering (2) Yoke flanges (4 bolt) and U joint and have plenty of misc square tubing and angle iron. I wanted help choosing best design to be upgradable down the line. Thank you and big fan of everyone involved with this highly addictive website. LOL IMG_1393.jpg

Ok, after few weeks of deciding on plan of attack I received my first shipment of parts. Plan is to mock up controls and weld up seat and cv joint frame.

    parts received:

$10.00 2010 Porsche Cayenne Driveshaft. Was listed because owner received for free because sent wrong part.
I assumed there was a standard u joint at end and cv joint in center. When arrived unwrapped end and noticed has 2 cv joint setup with a 4 bolt flange and poly isolation bushing. Seems like using the flange to center cv joint will be great option after welding diagonal supports.

As I am a very talented tradesmen and mechanic. I have only learned as needed when comes to electrical design and modification over the years. See my below plan of attack to first create a working control unit and please let me know if something sounds like a bad idea.

Wire up the R3 and Moto into my 6x6 junction box along with 2 fans and add heat sink to moto. Create wiring harness for motors pots and power supply (as was going to use a Dewalt 20v battery for temporary testing) good idea???

I have a modified design for using my existing Obutto front frame and attach seat mover and later attach traction loss to entire unit inspired by https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/obutto-revolution-2dof-traction-loss.9224/ Brett Horton’s design.

I wanted to make a mock up on a lower wood frame before started cutting material to fabricate rectangular tubing frame.

The major advice I may be asking is would I need (2) moto drivers if my motors are rated at 30 amps? There are just wiper motors but are commercial w/ 25 nm of torque.

Also I have tried to understand how the sim tools package works. Is there a lite version for demo use to get motors running then purchase or donate for the the full version?

Before you do anything test the MM, as these days all are clones and quality can be an issues: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/monster-moto-testing-before-use.158/

Also make sure wiper motors are ground isolated: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/wiper-motor-mandatory-ground-isolation.25/

You can download the demo version of SimTools, which comes packaged with the fully functional Live For Speed plugin, specifically for testing purposes: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/marketplace/motion-simulation-software-simtools.63/

Get the SimTools manual and keep it handy for reference: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/rtfm-start-with-the-official-simtools-documentation.117/

Make sure LFS is run before it s patched for motion: https://www.xsimulator.net/communit...run-in-first-person-mode-before-patching.365/

Thank you for the help. Have you came across the 12v wexco commercial wiper motors? I could not find the 50:1 Pgsaw style motors available at this time so to start found these for a decent price new from a seller for only about 30 each.

My two issues concerned with is

    1. fabricating a arm to a spline/male thread motor drive. In photo for mocking up have used coupler / arm made of steel stock / lock washer/double nut on a section of all thread in coupler. I don’t want to weld to drive shaft and loose easy adjustments capabilities. Any ideas from past experience anyone???

    2. Attaching my power wires and motor wires to moto drivers?

Looking for a cost efficient component to easily screw and unscrew power supply to board safely?
im sure they make something that can be soldered or bolted. I just do not have electrical experience in this field.

    thank you

Do you recommend a cost efficient power supply for (2) 180 w motors 12v

I believe have everything installed correctly to test single motor. The moto driver tested good. I don’t see much info on the single vnh2sp30 moto. I purchased two of these for testing purposes because my dual board was bad when arrived.
Does anyone happen to have a diagram for this single board driver?

also just applied for a testing license for sim tools. Is this the proper way to test or is there another lite software version I’m suppose to use?

Watch out for the wiper motor crank arm, I think it's too long for this type of motors.
