Is there a thread somewhere that is a good reference source for deciding on a rig that has ballpark budgets? For instance if you have X Amount of money you can build a 2DOF or if you have double that amount of money available you can build a 4DOF or a 6DOF. Or any variation on price based on components etc etc.

    Thanks for your time!

With DIY projects there are so many variables that it is impossible to give a really meaningful type of cost estimate comparison chart, for example some considerations include what hardware is chosen, where you live in the world, what new or used motors are available locally or not, transport costs, and exchange rates.

You could do a budget 2DOF for a few hundred dollars, or you could go high end and spend a few thousand dollars.

A lot of members do list some indicative costs for their project, so that is likely more accurate, though of course changes with time and inflation.

    Understandable! Thanks very much.
I am looking at around $2000 USD.

Does your budget include or exclude peripherals, as wheels, pedals, joysticks and the like tend to be expensive?

Do you plan using DC motors or actuators?
