Hello, and thanks for being here!
I'm reviving an old motion-cockpit project that's been stalled for a few years.

Thanks to tronic, i'm taking a crash-course in electronics to be able to build his system  ...
... but considering the drive motors...
Since this situation will require pushing around more weight than the average chair/frame setup, I suspect the popular windshieldwiper motor won't provide adequate rotation speed. Has anyone tried automotive starters?
As of now, I'm following the plan of another builder (Jim, from New Zealand, 2007) who coupled windshieldwiper motors to steering boxes. At least from the feel of the starter in my own van, it would have the torque necessary.
Can anyone clue me in on starter characteristics? Since i haven't seen anything on this, it was probably thrown out...why?
Thanks in advance... found a new home here, anyway!
