Personally I can't get into AC after playing pCARS and DR...... but maybe this upgrade might help that!

Dream Pack 3 will not fundamentally alter Assetto Corsa itself, rather it will extend content.

So I doubt it would radically alter your views of Assetto Corsa.

Of course there are others like myself who really appreciate the physics of Assetto Corsa and it is my go to race game as I can mess around with many different aspects of it, though it also has inadequacies such as a lack of menu support for VR.

The game has potential but it's lacking in too many areas for me. Haven't bought any DLC pks either as I'm not happy with the core aspect of the game there's no need to throw more money at it AFAIC.

I'm with noorbeast, as far as in-game feel and physics goes, it's hard to beat A/C. (This is compared to real life track driving.) I had high hopes for pcars but honestly it feels like an arcade game. Nothing like driving in real life, so I was extremely disappointed. I'll take realism in "feel" over pretty visuals and sounds every single day. iRacing is pretty good to, but the slip feedback and enhanced understeer in AC is really great. It's not perfect by any means, but this isn't real driving so what do you expect!

As far as accuracy to real tracks, unfortunately I'm in the states so my track experience is entirely irrelevant to track feel. I will say that the US-based tracks like Laguna Seca that people have created are really bad, so maybe people with experience driving

Pcars is written for consoles as well as PC. Remember, that, so it will be a bit simpler to play.
AC is expected to be released on next gen consoles next year sometime. As far as I know, there will be no "dumbing down" of the game. Its a sim and to play on a console, get a wheel and pedals.
Anyway, whens the dream pack 3 supposed to be released? I just check steam and its not out yet.

    EDIT, 15th December its out

Double EDIT, oh how I love peoples opinions of games, of which they are entitled to say, however, if you are not happy with a game, either dont play it or go write a better version.

I love BrandsHatch, I remember spending many hours on that track on Toca Race Driver. It must be very fun to drive now with an DOF in AC (THE simulator!).

Ah, if I can solve my problems with the Game Engine that keeps on crashing after a few seconds in every game... :sos

No, I didn't. I didn't also try to solve the problem, cause the place where I have the rig is pretty cold right now, and I'm a bit ill.
    I'll try tomorrow, and if I can't I'm opening a thread about it. Thanks anyway @Pit .

Just one question: is there a place where SimTools stores crashes' logs (if it does)?

Unqualfied bashings????!!!! Glad you like the game.

Without the RHM app the games not even playable. The 2 camera choices of locked or unlocked are a joke. Never mind the AI and career mode. The sound effects and graphics are way behind....hell this game doesn't even compete with GTR2.

Hey the physics are decent though! :cheers

    Maybe in 2.0... try/catch/exception

Anyway I solved the problem: it was a wire from psu to the on/off switch that made the motor go on off on off... found it through the jrk utility.
Now AC launcher started crashing.... pffffff

Well I can honestly say I have more fun playing pCARS these days then most games out there. And it has nothing to do with my returns from the game covering all my sim racing expenses over the last 10 yrs in just the first 2 payment either. But it definitely doesn't hurt!

pCARS is lacking in several areas as well. The incar cameras are also messed up simular to AC's. The ai needs work, the FFB needs work and the list goes on.

I didn't mean to upset anyone here with my lack of interest in AC. I was just merely letting people know the game doesn't hold my interest and why. :cheers

    Assetto Corsa 1.4

    Graphics
Several features related to post processing effects have been refined, including the FXAA filter that has been significantly improved using Kunos' own shader. The new build also introduces a new reflection rendering system: these feature result in a substantial improvement in how the cars look. The HDR algorithm now matches real-life photographic references, resulting in much more natural lighting and reflections.

Build 1.4 introduces also a new font rendering system for dashboards, bringing about in a higher level of graphics and definition. Digital instruments have been updated for all available cars, while the exaggerated motion blur effect for some camera modes has been eliminated.

    Artificial intelligence
The new build introduces a new algorithm to improve the ability for AI drivers to stick to the intended racing line, resulting in better behaviour in close racing. The code related to braking algoritghm is now able to understand and use locked inside tyre for FWD.

    Multiplayer
The antilag/antiwarp system has been vastly improved, introducing a new netcode prediction algorithm that is now used to handle missing packets that used to generate warps and lags, providing a more stable and consistent online experience.

    Audio
Since the first Dream Pack, a lot of effort has been put into the audio, especially for exterior sounds. The Dream Pack 3 is no exception with each car having its distinctive note, from the little mighty 500 Assetto Corse to the screaming DFV V8 engine of the legendary Lotus 72d. Furthermore, "old" cars are also undergoing a sound revamp: the 1.4 update will bring to you new exterior sounds for the BMW M3 e30 DTM/Group A.

    Assetto Corsa Dream Pack 3
This package adds the Brands Hatch circuit and eight new awesome cars in a total of nine different versions to the Assetto Corsa racing game. Get it today and join the most thrilling virtual driving experience ever!

The Circuit of Brands Hatch in Assetto Corsa
The development of this famous and challenging circuit required six months of work, making Brands Hatch the fourth circuit added to Assetto Corsa during 2015, after the legendary Nordschleife, Zandvoort and Barcelona. As showed in the following video, Kunos Simulazioni development team has reproduced the track paying attention to every single detail and reference point used by real drivers, thanks to an extensive use of Laserscan technology, guaranteeing maximum accuracy. The resulting precision combined with the advanced physics model of Assetto Corsa offers an unprecedented driving experience blurring the difference between virtual racing and reality.

    The Cars
Similarly to previous Dream Packs, the cars included in this third package were selected through user polls, with gamers voting for their favourite manufacturers and models on our website. The pack includes a perfect mix of vehicles of different classes, types and periods, ready to satisfy our fans’ hunger for racing.
