If your building an SCN5 based simulator, the 2DOF is generally around $2000 USD and the 3DOF is generally between $3000 and $6000 depending on if you buy or build and what you buy or build. There is yet to be a 6DOF SCN based simulator presented here, although they do exist.

These are the ballpark figures for the easily determined scenarios. There are many ways to design a build a simulator, such as with Wiper Motors from a junkyard. It's difficult to say exactly what your costs will be with a system like this because there are so many parts to obtain depending on where you are located, the costs can vary wildly.

No doubt that the wheel, pedals and shifter are a far superior experience. I speculate that at least 90% or more of the members here have a wheel, pedal, shifter set of some sort.

A buttkicker can add some effects that even the fastest actuators can not. I personally consider these and other vibratory feedback mechanisms to be a nice addition to a motion sim.

Why do you think people spend $250 on a brake pedal upgrade for a G25? Thats as much as the whole wheel... OR a new console, including 2 controllers and a game... :D

How much does it cost to build 2-3-6DOF? How much does a car cost? There are cars that cost $2000, and there are ones that cost $200,000....
