BTW, check the way they mounted the rift sensor.

The Rift has leds all over, including at the back, though transitioning tracking from the front to the back can cause issues with a single camera.

The mounting of the camera above does not resolve the issue of the need for motion cancellation on a motion sim capable of large axis movements when used with VR.

They say it is low cost and portable but I have a hard time believing either is the case. But then I suppose it all depends on what you compare it to. I didn't see prices listed on their site anywhere either though so that usually indicates to me that I don't need to bother asking. :D

Low cost compared with other 100k units... :)
Anyway, the sensor mounting was interesting, just thought that being a professional (and expensive) unit maybe they researched got a point putting the sensor that way... I can't try as I don't have a sim right now.

whithot a tight belt you are "rebounding" in a way that makes it not as real as it should be, When you are "coming back" into the seat the car is already in other position...It is more real with less powerfull movements and a tight belt in a 2DOF or 3DOF seat mover. At least for racing games IMHO Very nice though

For the 'low' cost and short build time there is nothing wrong with a well setup 2DOF/3DOF motion sim, but having built and used both - if you have the budget and time - sorry 6DOF always. I think the sensor mount may be due to the laid back driving position. There is no advantage in mounting the camera like that. For the hell of it, gave it a try - when the rig was pitching forward it would sometimes lose track for an instant - a fail for me.

sure 6DOF is better but that rig like it shown in that video is a lot less real than a 2DOF with a tight belt. I think I contructed the sentense wrong I am talking about that simulator with no belt compared with my 2DOF where I know exactly what bump I am feeling :)
