i am building a 6dof sim using motion4sims design using cranked rods. i am trying to keep costs down by using 20mm conduit with 1.6m walls which is standard in the uk. i am planning to use 20mm rose/heim joints with spacers to get more movement. this wil mean the anchor points will be 14mm diameter at a distance of 100mm from the cranks at the motor end. total weight of the top platform will be about 100kgs including me. will 14mm rods 100m from the crank be strong enough?
