So I currently have and am selling a 3DOF Pitch, Roll, Heave platform and am researching my next build or purchase. I just came across this https://www.alibaba.com/product-det...yofferlist.p_offer.d_price.6c044339wVAHFE&s=p
A rotation only Pitch, Yaw, Roll platform and want to get your thoughts. My goal is a general purpose sim for use in race sims, newtonian space flight sims, and arcade space sims (eg. Project cars, Elite Dangerous, Star Wars Squadrons).

What do you think of the rotation only 3DOF vs linear driven 3 post 3DOF that seam to be more standard / popular.

    Good luck with the sale.

With respect to design, all consumer motion sim designs have some degree of compromise. A rotational axis including yaw is perhaps better suited to flight simming, which utilizes yaw, while a traditional 2DOF + traction loss is better suited to race sims, as traction loss (pivot near the feet) better simulates the drift of vehicles, while yaw is not really a realist force outside of a spin.
