    Hi Guys,

I've searched the forum and I can't find anything that answers this specific question....

If the motors for a 3DOF were configured in a triangle, so shoulder mount as normal but then one under the seat at the front in the middle, can this motor at the front be used in conjunction with the two shoulder mounts to give you heave? And is that possible under the JRK configs, so that Heave would use all 3 motors when needed?

What I imagine in my head is that the shoulder mount motors would go up, making the seat pitch down, but the third motor under the seat would push up at the same time, lifting the seat upwards.

Of course, the pivot point would need to mounted in such a way to allow upward movement, likely on springs.

(I was going to make my Sim MkII with Traction Loss, but space is limited for me, so I started playing around with heave.... )

I use 2 motors at the front and 1 at the rear but yes you are correct, you configure all 3 motors to act in unison for heave.

That said, on my sim I have the single 25:1 motor setup with greater axis travel and set it to do more of the fine effects like ripple strips, while the 2 front 60:1 motors do more of the undulation, so they don't have to work that hard. I have messed with filters a fair bit to get exactly the outcome I wanted in capturing and mixing the fine and more gross heave movements

Yes the pivot has to be able to move up and down.

In the JRK config you just do a normal setup, it is in the SimTools settings that you configure and control the 3 motors for heave.

Thanks @noorbeast - I will likely post back with more questions as I go along. :thumbs
