Hmm. Maybe D-Box owners can turn them upside down and use them with X-Sim

On the serious side though, the lack of overall standards is quite a problem!

My 3D glasses have a sync button to jump one frame, to prevent the need to turn them upside down :)
However, shutter glasses are a dead end anyway.

Imho the RealD (polarized light) technology (e.g Avatar) is the state of the art so far, and fortunately the company is going for the consumer market soon

Btw, RealD sells hardware filters (polarizers) for projectors already.

But you neeed a silver coated screen to use this technology, and they did not mention a price, so I guess it wont be cheap :)

You guys are quiet right with the standards. Most of the companies want to have it their way, with a product line that is not compatible with anything which eventually kills the their market.

This sort of marketing works great on paper: People will buy only from that product line (and not others' products) -> Company makes lot of money.
In practice: People spending anything over ~$300 (especially over $1000) will do a thorough research on ALL available products they can buy and make a decision based on: performance, price, quality and most importantly COMPATIBILITY.

Who wants to buy a DVD player that only works with ONE brand of TV/Projector? I sure don't...

I agree, shutter type glasses are dead already. Once RealD takes off at an affordable pricepoint, the rest will be history.
