    UPDATE April, 24th 2017
    Hi all,

i am back after thoroughly re-read every FAQ, every advice from my thread, and others thread.
    FINALLY MY SIMULATOR IS MOVING..YEAYYY!!!:cheers

this is video of my sim in action

    and this is my setting
    39752 39753 39754 39755 39756 39757

    Update from previous :
    1. Re-build my simulator to simple seat shaker (previous full frame).
    2. Re-make motor shaft from threaded rod to custom shaft (milling).
    3. Evaluate wiring.
    4. Evaluate @Wanegain arduino sketch (Min & Max pot. I decide to using +60 -60 degree movement, to prevent over travel lever).
    5. Will send my simulator frame to be powdercoated.
    6. Back to drawing board, traction loss coming soon (motor already on hands, board still thinking Sabertooth?JRK?).

With current setting and condition, my movement as you see in video. I still learn to get finer movement. Playing AC for 2-4 hours (playing with motion sim is really addictive) my motor is Normal (even no warm), my Sabertooth is Normal, my PSU is Normal. the only problem is my PSU is very loud.
Playing Dirt Rally with AC setting. Everything is warmer. I play only for ONE Stage (6-10 min).

    some question :
    1. I am thinking about giving some "safety protection" to my electronic configuration, i see several nice idea from this community (using car battery, fuse, even relay). i really want to put all that to may simulator (Overkill?). what do you guys think?

    2. Am my simulator eligible for free SimTools 2.0?

That's all my current status. please dont hesitate to comment about my simulator (i really need input from all sim expert from this amazing community).
    thanks a heap to @noorbeast, @Nick Moxley , @Wanegain , @drtikol , @Daguru , @insanegr , @Historiker

    ===================================================================

    Hi all,

While waiting for my motor from my original thread https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/2dof-build-seat-mover.8258/ . I want to help friend who want to build simulator from wiper motor.

We already collect all parts and electronics (minus uni joint):
    1. Here's our wiper motor, it is from Suzuki Trooper
    image.jpeg
Hope it will move my sims:)

    2. Here's our complete parts and electronics:
    image.jpeg
I am decided to use arduino uno and MotoMonster

    3. This is my welded platform, our intention is to build knee mount motor. I know maybe some of you think the motor is small for this kind of build. But i know somewhere in this forum somebody already success build this.
    image.jpeg

Regarding this build we have several question (noobs question):
    1. How we suppose to mount the motor, as in picture motor have same direction. As we have to make left and right, what is rule of thumb on how to mount the motor?Must be align between shaft?
    2. Continuinng from poin 1, if so from our thinking the motor will move in opposite direction?to counter this.

That's it for know. Bear with me guys, as in the progress i will have more question, noobs questions.;)

    thanks @noorbeast

another question, after watching some youtube video regarding wiper motor and from this forum, we only need two wire, so which wire ?1, 3, 5, or 6 configuration?

What connections do you have on your motors @DonCorleonez ?
I've got wiper motors from BMW and they are equipped with just 2 wires as seen on the picture.

the connector just the same as you, but i have 5 cables, 2 straight from motor side and then to connector, and 3 is "connected" to body and then to connector

    Proceeds with our build,

today i try to fight with SMC3 Utils, i already follow step..but in step where we have to slowly increase PWMax, when motor moving, the green feedback line is not moving towards/away blue line
but when i switch cable between 5v and GND..the only difference is green line move to below blue line, but still not moving towards/away to blue line.
when i rotate pots knob same direction with motor movement, the green line is moving towards blue line and stop when it reach same level.

..is it normal?can i proceed with simtools?
Or is it we suppose to connect pots with motors before conducting SMC3 initial setup?:sos

pots i am using Bourns 3590s 10kOhm linear

I think you have to have pots mounted to motors for the guide to work been a while since I used smc3 thou

    Thank you very much @noorbeast

Okay, so my setup is correct, thanks @Daguru for confirming. But one of my motor is not moving after passing target line, i guess my MM is broken.

Hope this weekend i got movement

    @Daguru or anyone
how to set "zero position" for motor lever?is it by rotate potentiometer to "target" line?or is there any other way?

I set the motor arm to where I wanted the centre point to be then used a multimeter to find centre of my pots and clamp it there

@Daguru another question about SMC3, is it normal that when motor start turning (pot disconnected from motor shaft) and suddenly it stop (red light off). And then i rotate pot until passing target line it start to ON and turning again, after that suddenly it stop again.

Sorry I have no idea I never ran SMC3 with pots disconnected my guess with pots disconnected you will hit motor limits fast which will cut power and stop motors

I would turn the motors as I think you would get more movement
