I've finally started my own seat mover. The main goals for this project are: it has to be cheap, and it has to be small (as in small footprint).
So I bought the arduino and the motomonsters from deal extreme a year ago, I don't remember how much they costed. I bought two used wiper motors from a a shop here. I seems that everything in Tarragona, Spain is a lot more expensive than anywhere else, because they charge me 40€ for each motor.
I've modified the motors for the ground isolation. It's a pity that I haven't remembered to make some pictures of that. Because It was very difficult (for me at least).
I've got a Dell Z750P power supply capable of 62A, got it from an old server for free.
And finally a guy bring me for free some square metals left over for free.
I am making the frame without plans, and I am a novice welder, so this is what I've got for now.
    The Base:

    Marriage of both parts:

I am waiting for the connecting rods, but while waitnig I wanted to test movement. For that I've used the wiper frame that came with the motor.

While I'm waiting for the rods, I am thinking how to connect the wiper to the potentiometer, I am forced to use the same side as the lever because the wiper I have only have one side. This is what I think I could fabricate:

After a lot of testing, I realized that the motors are too weak, the connection from the motors to the seat are too weak too. For starters. Does anyone know where to buy two (12V) DC motors that have enough power. I am buying from Spain.

Yes I did have a look at that post, but sadly the ebay sale has ended, and motiondynamics is from australia, but thank you for your post

    Thank you very much, this:

    Model: 73ZYT-145-12-MCP4-62/1-BZ-GH1436 (12VDC, 135W, output speed 70RPM, 15Nm, gear ratio 62:1, bronze gears)

Seems to be a good choice, what do you think?
