i have a 2dof im building with arduino and 2 MM. In smc3 motor one works correctly on motion but motor 2 only seems to go one way, no reverse. Is there anything i can try or is it likely a bad MM? Potentiometer seems to read correctly if i turn it manually(not connected to motor).

Correct, it seems Sparkfun have discontinued MMs, so those found online are clones.

Those motors do not need ground isolation.

is there a "reliable" place to get the MMs? or what would be an upgrade from a MM?

I just got lucky, was painting my basement and found an extra MM laying around. Changed it out and it works in SMC3. Now onto simtools.

actually before i move onto simtools. Im using a clarostat 73ja 10k pot, is there anyway to get the movement to be more pronounced in smc3? if i move to the full back or forward of my rig, the potentiometer barely moves off the center.

A wild guess but perhaps that is a 10 turn pot?

How is the pot connected to the motor, directly or is it geared?

How many turn of the pot does it take to go from one end of its range to the other?

Then I am guessing you would need to gear it.

hola mi pregunta es el plugin necesario para mover los motores, mi simulador no se mueve con el juego pero los motores se mueven con SMC3
