Hello all I have been super into sim racing for a few years now and want to build a 2dof and possibly 3dof in the future. I was gifted an old Jazzy Mini that was my great grandpa's. I have bean reading researching and sourcing parts. I am having difficulties figuring out the power output of these motors one ai says no info another says 1200w, I hope not lol I bought a 1200w psu thinking these were 200w give or take. I am needy for guidance.

Gear boxes look good maybe 40:1 range.

    ✅ Summary Table
    Spec Value / Estimate
    Type 24 V Brushed DC w/ gearbox & brake
    Max Current ~75 A peak
    Nominal Voltage 24 V
Peak Power (motor only) ~1,800 W
    Estimated Torque (post-gearbox) ~20–40 Nm
    Brake Current ~1–2 A @ 24 V
    Weight ~13.5 lb (6.1 kg)
⚡️ TL;DR: Expect ~100–400 W per motor on average, depending on load and motion intensity.

    Real-World Motion Sim Wattage Estimates

Usage Type Realistic Draw Per Motor Total Draw (2 motors)
    Idle / Static
    ~5–20 W (holding force only) ~10–40 W
    Light Motion (flightsim / casual use) ~50–150 W ~100–300 W
    Racing / Moderate G-forces ~100–300 W ~200–600 W
    Aggressive / VR or drifting sim ~200–400 W ~400–800 W
Peak / Sudden sharp movement ~600–800 W for a brief spike ~800–1600 W peak for both

I also ended up going with 2 sets of 6Ohm 100w resistors to deal with regen.

Wasnt very clear I have 4 6Ohm 100w resistors my plan was all 4 in parallel on the p1 channel of the sabertooth for 400w 1.5Ohm resistor bank and then use P2 to possibly run the brakes or run the brakes directly from PSU for shutdown

I also came up on this driveshaft so 2 choices the overly stiff single or the very smooth but longer double cardan joints
