Hey all, been lurking on her for a while as I was getting parts and figuring out my design and what not so I figured maybe it was time to post up some progress. So what I am building is a compact 2DOF Sim that can convert from a seat mover to a full frame so I can use when I do or don't have the space for a full frame. My design is based off bsft's desk racer and noorbeast's iteration on that same design. So without further ado I'm going to post some progress pics of the frame and you guys can enjoy them and ask any questions you have.

    Great start @mattxl.

Do maximise the length of the pivot to the motor connection point on the front frame. It does not matter as much in seat shaker mode but makes a significant difference in fullframe mode where you want as much leverage as possible. For that reason if I did it again I would go a little longer in the frame and a bit further forward for the front connecting bar. As it is I have just moved the front bar forward a further 30mm while I have my sim in bits.

Yeah I am going to have it forward and higher to help with the lifting. I just attached the sliding seat rails so now I have to start looking at mounting the motors and prepping the bars and what not that the motors will connect to. IMG_20150610_214543898_HDR.jpg

Yeah, its just an old drive shaft from a 1999 Ford Ranger that has been cut down and welded to a quarter inch metal plate. And it was painted with black rustoleum stops rust paint after having the rust removed by a white vinegar soak.
