    Hi All

2019 is going to be my 2dof seat mover build goal. I have kids, busy job, a house that always needs maintenance etc so it's going to be slow but here goes...I have been searching here for a while on components etc and thought id post my parts list for any feedback. Here it is:

2DOF JRK MOTION ADDITION TO EXISTING TIMBER RIG (approx AUD pricing inc Shipping)
    • 2X Worm Drive Motor 12V/24V 200W, 180 RPM, 20Nm Torque / $231.87 / Motion Dynamics Australia
    • 2X JRK 12x12 / $253.66 / core electronics
    • 1X HP 575W DPS-600PB / $35.00 / eBay
    • 10K Linear Potentiometer / $30.00 / core electronics
    • 2X Heatsinks / $3.00 / core electronics
    • Flexible coupling / $10.00 / eBay
    • Electrical Wires $20.00
    • 1X U joint (2X Yolk flange/bracket) $60.00
    • 4X m12 Ball Joint with Female Head $40.00
    • m12 threaded rod $10.00
    • Steel & Wood General $50.00
    QUESTIONS
I have a few questions though if anyone can help out:
    • Worm drive motors, Is my only option the 12v version given the JRKs I'm using?
    • What about hall effect ones? Anyone know were could I get some in Aus? Are they better?
    • I'm not sure what coupling size I need.

here's my current rig, which I plan to build the seat mover bit in the shed and then attach it once finished.

    Any feedback much appreciated.

JRKs you have are 12v, and the MD 200w motors are a good match for them. But MD do have different ratio gearboxes that suit different Sim designs.

Element 14 and other suppliers carry Hall sensors, these are the specs if you want to do a search: https://au.element14.com/bi-technol...fs/sensor-hall-0-2v-20v-to-10v-pin/dp/2319662

The advantage of Halls is that they won't break if over rotated, have really good resolution and a long life.

Flexible couplings should be used, some shafts are 6.25 but some are 6mm, check the data sheet of whatever Hall sensors you choose.

The standard 25:1s work great for a shoulder mount design.
