The SCN 6 (040-200) have arrived. Now, a bracket must be constructed. A table leg for a workbench had exactly the right size. Cut a bit and drill. And the holders were finished.

After the first hundred kilometers of testing some errors came to light:

The universal joint was much too small, was wobbly and made noise.
    IMG_2564.JPG

That meant taking again money in hand and buy a decently universal joint:(
    IMG_4444.jpg
It was worth it: much quieter and stable:grin

The next weak point was the attachment of the lower rod ends and the lack of damping

The belts and refinements are all really good upgrades that will greatly enhance the motion experience and longevity of your rig.

I've added traction loss to my rig, but unfortunately it does not work properly.
my setup: 2x SCN6 for sway, surge, pitch and roll. and new arduino uno with ibt2 and smc3 for traction loss (extra 1).
The problem is that with increasing activity of the traction los effects suddenly the steering wheel rotates and most of the SCN engines stop. Does somebody has any idea?

SimTools should not affect a steering wheel, so it sounds like it may be a USB/hardware related issue, but just to be sure can you please post pictures of all of your settings.

@highi Does this happens in all games or just one? Does the game or Simtools stop working / crashes to desktop?

Thanks for your tips. The problem occurs in all games. The games and Simtools continue without a hitch. I think it must be a USB / hardware error. As soon as I steer the Arduino over Simtools, the steering and pedals response is delayed. Likewise I have the feeling that the actuators react with a delay. The car is not navigable. I have tried other USB ports, only Traction Loss activates without actuators. The error always remained the same. Maybe the combination of SCN6 and Arduino is not possible? Or the SMC3 code incompatible with only one motor?

Computers often share USB controllers between multiple ports, so you could try using a program like UsbTreeView to find what your controller your wheel and hardware are using, then separate them if needed: https://www.uwe-sieber.de/usbtreeview_e.html

Worst case the motherboard only has one actual USB controller for everything. You can add a PCI USB card to add another controller. Just be aware that inexpensive multi-port USB cards usually just have a single USB controller on the card and all of the ports are actually attached to an internal hub. Plugging conflicting devices into two ports on one of those cards could lead to the same problems. I've also had weird issues when trying to use more than one of the same cheap Inateck USB card in a single machine, I assume due to some sort of driver limitation.

As a last resort there are fancy cards such as the RocketU 1144D and StarTech Quad Bus which have a dedicated USB controller for each port. I've basically resorted to using these to avoid weird USB dropouts and disconnects and they seem to help, but they also cost several times as much as the cheaper cards.

Another thing to watch out for is the way the ports are laid out on the back. For example the StarTech card has the ports perpendicular the PCI opening and my Corsair case has PCI openings that are slightly narrower than a USB plug, so I had to cut away some of the case metal to make the card usable.
