    Hey all,
I am not sure how to calculate the power requiment for my rig. If there is any post or resource anyone can point me to to figure that out that would be awesome.

I am trying to power these 3 motors:

    3 - 12 volt 75-80 RPM 180 Watt motors
    https://www.ebay.ca/itm/354052076387

    With this power supply:

    1 - 12 volt 50 Amp 600 Watt Letour power supply

Will that supply enough juice or do you think I need to have a power supply per motor?
    Thanks!
    Nick

@Halloween2go these are the same motors you are using on your main setup. Just wondering if you are using a power supply or still using the truck battery?
Any idea how you would determine the right power supply to run all 3?
    Thanks!

I think it's gonna be fair.
The vacuum motor will consume 15Ah, for 3 motors 45Ah.
5 amps of margin seems fair to me!
For me, a 20Ah/240W power supply per motor would be more sensible.

Our rigs generate significant power spikes in fast reversals, how big depends on a whole range of hardware and design related variables, so there is no magic generic formula.

Best to err on the side of caution with PSUs, personally I use 3 modified 600W HP server PSUs for my compact 3DOF.

Awesome, thanks for the advice @Fdmml and @noorbeast, that was the same math I was looking at as well fdmml, but I wasn't considering the power spikes.
@noorbeast when you say "modified PSU", was there an issue with using them as they were? You can't just connect the motor controllers to them out of the box?
