    Hello Everyone!

I've been reading the forums every day for the last week and thought I might as well sign up and introduce myself.

I'm a New Zealander living in Australia (surprise) and this year I'm planning to build a motion sim. It's been an idea in the back of my mind for years but seeing what community members have managed to put together has been really encouraging and has convinced me that it really is possible! This forum has already been a fantastic source of information and I hope that I can contribute back in some way :)

    hello everyone,

newbie in simulator world - my friend and me are trying to build a simulator for dirt rally.
tried with x-sim software, but couldn't get it to work on almost any platform - win 10, 7, xp... i hope there will be better luck with simtools, because we don't plan to invest any money in hardware before we have stable software.
now i have to learn a lot, i hope i'll be sitting in my DIY simulator this year :)

You don't have to wait just to test SimTools, just follow the instructions here: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/game-engine-exceptions.7080/#post-82208

You can try Dirt Rally once you have everything configured but start with LFS, you can download the demo here and the plugin is already included when you install SimTools: https://www.lfs.net/downloadlfs

You can download SimTools here: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/marketplace/categories/simtools.3/

    Hi all,

I have just signed up today, looking to build a dash first and then step into the world of dynamic simulators. Want to use a factory instrument cluster and I know this is the place to get the best advise for my project.

    Regards.

    Hi guys ,,,

I'm Steve and just thought i'd check in ,,gotta love this forum for the amount of info and cool projects to look at,,,

I'm looking to add a seat mover to my ally profile rig ,,kind of in the same style that bsft has done as i'm wanting it to be very compact because my rig is in the living room ,,, I'm in no rush so i'll probably start getting parts in bit by bit and at the same time reading as much as i can on here,,

    Cheers

    Welcome @stevemontuno.

I have also gone for a compact design, originally inspired by @bsft's DeskRacer and then developed it further as a 3DOF rig.

The FAQs are a great place to start your reading, as they cover everything from design software, dimension of sims, to PSUs, pots, motors, JRKs, Arduinos and Motor Monsters and more: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/

    Hello All,

Last week I stumbled upon a simulation chair on an auction. As I'd never seen the type of chair before, I tried to find it on the internet. Offcourse, first hits I got were from the auction-site. So, not very helpfull. Then I fumbled around with the wording and only checked images. And behold, there it was. Same chair, only with a 15-inch screen attached to it. Ok, so this was probably an old simulation chair. But who cares, a 2dof is a 2dof.

Finally I also found a name and year: Rock'n'ride, 1995. Obviously, I thought this was not going to work. Then I thought about Xsimulator and, YES, the chair has its own forum! So, I decided to bid on it, hoping that the price wouldn't go up too much. Long story short... I was the only bidder at the end.

Therefore, today I picked up my Rock'n'Ride chair for which I paid EUR55,- And I think that's not a bad deal.

Next is to add the usb-option to it and then see how much fun I can get out of it.
